This post brought to you by Tree Hut. All opinions are 100% mine.
Right now it is sunny, gorgeous, and in the 80’s! Hooray! Summer is so close I can taste it. Soon we will be wearing shorts, tanks, swimwear, and cute wedges every day and enjoying the beach. But in order to get our feet flip-flop ready, we need to undo the damage of dry winter feet. Today, I’ll show you step-by-step how to do a pedicure at home using some of my favorite products.
Now before we begin, I have to warn you that my feet are NOT my best feature. You might be saying to yourself, “Of course they aren’t silly. All feet are ugly.” But my feet are uglier than most ugly feet, so I apologize beforehand for subjecting you to them. Okay, the ugly-foot-disclaimer is taken care of so let’s carry on.
Recommended Items Needed for Pedicure:
Before I begin my pedicure I gather the following:
- Foot bath
- Epsom salts
- Tree Hut foot scrub
- Tree Hut foot cream
- Foot grater and foot file(s)
- Pumice stone with brush
- Nail Polish Remover
- Cotton balls
- Towel
- Nail clippers
- Nail brush
- Nail scissors
- Orange stick
- Cuticle remover
- Nail file
- Nail polish
Once my supplies are in place I am ready to begin the pampering!
How to Do a Pedicure
Step 1: Remove any nail polish from the toes.
Step 2: Fill the foot bath with hot water and Epsom salts and soak feet for 5-10 minutes.
Step 3: Scrub feet with an exfoliating scrub. I like to use Tree Hut foot scrub because it smells good enough to eat and does a great job at exfoliating the rough patches.
Step 4: Remove one foot at a time and use the foot grater and file to smooth rough heels.
Step 5: Remove feet from the bath and slather on a cooling foot cream. Yes, this post is sponsored by Tree Hut, but even if it wasn’t I would recommend using Tree Hut foot cream. It’s been a favorite of mine before writing this post. It soaks in readily, leaves your feet feeling smooth, and has a “cooling effect” that I dig. It contains organic shea butter, argan oil, and is Paraben free with no DMDM. It rocks. I buy my Tree Hut products at Walmart and you can also find them on Amazon.
Step 6: Use cuticle cutters to clip off any dry cuticles.
Step 7: Use an orange stick to push down cuticles and to clean under the nail bed.
Step 8: Trim toenails using nail clippers or nail scissors. I prefer the scissors.
Step 9: File the nails straight.
Step 10: Paint toes any fun color you desire and enjoy your summer-ready feet!

I am a real need for a good pedicure. I had just found on another site about using Listerine or even a generic mouthwash like it to soften my rough , cracked heels & I have tried this and it did work wonders but I have a long way to go to have those sandal ready heels & feet. Thank you for hosting this giveaway & I do hope I am one of the lucky winners but if not I still love your site I just found today.

They say, if u wanna know a man, see how clean his feet/shoes r <— thats cause its the last place people tend to care for. Incidentally, I come from a family of foot fetishes, so bad/dirty feet is a huge NO. My husband was nvr into toenails well cut or softer heels (thats as far as his manhood allows him) but 3 yrs into our marriage and he LOVES his pedicures by me.
Im a very traditional girl though, its amazing how just a huge dollop of Petroleum Jelly at the end, with socks on to protect the feet for arnd 30mins can do. It actually feels as if the skin on ur feet r alive…ur cuticles look neat and ur nails look healthy.

I just gave my husband his first pedicure, ever. It went well except we couldn’t find a soaking tub and had to improvise (don’t ask)! He loved it and now I know what the secret to a happy marriage is: back rubs and pedicures!

You’re a good wife Susan! A back rub I am willing to do. Feet gross me out. Even my own. Maybe especially my own! LOL ;)!

Fun post. I’m probably the only gal in America who has never had a pedi. My feet are not my favorite feature either. But yours are cute, Beth!

I should also add my daughter (6) loves to get pedi’s and I usually take her to hair college when it is sooo much cheaper and they get points for doing others.
Rosita says
I would love a good pedi! I agree with the Listerine one … I was given a recipe for this:1/4c.vinegar, 1/4c.Listerine,&1/2c.warm water. Soak feet for 10minutes and when you take them out the dead skin will practically wipe off! ~Blessings and hope you enjoy!

I really dislike doing my own pedi’s, but I do. I do however get a pro to do them a couple times a summer season.
One tip i’ll add is that soaking your feet in a cheap brand of Listerine is an absolute must. I buy the Wal-Mart brand. Don’t use the blue cause it will stain your feet. I usually just fill an old plastic shoe box *also wal-mart* just until the liquid comes to the side of my feet. Soak 5-10 mins and proceed with the pedi. It is amazing what
this product will do for your feet. You can also pop the lid on the tub of fake listerine and use it up to 5-times.

Listerine? Who knew?! Is it great for exfoliating? I’m excited to try it. I bet it smells bad though. My feet are so hideous that I feel horrible subjecting them to anyone else. I always just do my own pedi.
