Keeping the House Clean While DIY’ing: BISSELL® PowerGlide® Lift-Off® Vacuum

This post brought to you by BISSELL Homecare, Inc.. All opinions are 100% mine.

I don’t usually get excited about a vacuum cleaner, but I can honestly say that I am loving my new BISSELL® PowerGlide® Pet Vacuum with Lift-Off® Technology. Our home is three stories tall (4 if you include the basement) with lots of steep stairs to climb. Having two vacuums has been on my wishlist for awhile now, so when BISSELL asked me if I’d like to review their new vacuum cleaner I jumped on board. Yes, it’s a sponsored post, but I will always give it to you straight when it comes to my thoughts and opinions. And my thoughts on this vacuum can be summed up in one word: cleandiggity! (It’s such a great vacuum it deserved its own made-up word. :))

Bissell Powerglide Vacuum

As DIY’er we are constantly tearing up our homes in order to create something beautiful. But let’s face it, there is a lot of chaos that happens between the “before” and the “after”. The BISSELL® PowerGlide® Pet Vacuum with Lift-Off® Technology has no loss of suction and contains a very cool lift-off pod, long-stretch hose, and large capacity dirt cup to clean up tough messes like sawdust, plaster, and tracked-in dirt. So when I make a mess hanging new blinds in my bedroom… sawdust

Or when I cut off the legs of a coffee table leaving sawdust all over my carpet in the guest room… diy desk

Or when I upholster a window cornice leaving myriads of staples on the dining room rug… window cornice

I can rest assured that BISSELL has me covered! It even comes with a TurboBrush and crevice tool which are great for cleaning my sawdust-covered bench and desk. I’m also excited to use it on some of the items in my home that I’m not cleaning but you should be :). The long hose and liftoff technology will work great on ceiling fans, vents, DIY artwork and even my gross computer keyboard. Eek!

I am always on the lookout for that ever elusive vacuum that won’t lose its suction power!!! I get so frustrated. I will have good suction for the first 3 or 4 times then, no more, and I spend my time yelling at it “YOU SUCK. AND NOT IN A GOOD WAY!!” Seriously. :/ So…how long have you actually had this? I’m seriously looking for truth here.

Hi Nancy, I’ve had it for only a few weeks and have used it maybe a dozen times? I am impressed by it. The container completely lifts off from the base so you can easily vacuum your stairs without dragging the entire machine and trying to balance it precariously on a step. That is a huge draw for me with all of our stairs. My other vacuum is a Dyson Animal which I’ve had for about 2 years and also love. Comparing the two, I think they have a lot of similarities. However, I paid around $400 for my Dyson and the BISSELL retails for around $180. Time will tell if it loses suction or not, but so far so good. I try not to use my vacuums as shopvacs (we have one in our basement), but sometimes it’s tempting and I admit I’m pretty hard on my vacuums. The BISSELL has handled sawdust, dog hair, my flokati rug, and broken glass with ease. The dirt chamber fills quickly in my house but not any quicker than in my Dyson. I hope that helps!
