Hi everyone! I’ve been in grieving over my hard drive fail and it’s made it hard to focus on the blog. (For those of you just tuning in, I took my computer to the Apple store and they weren’t able to recover anything off of my hard drive. I lost four+ years of everything. Sob!) I’m trying not to beat myself up too badly for being a complete idiot and not backing anything up but that is proving difficult. Thanks for all of your sweet words on facebook and through email. You guys are the best!
Okay, on to happier things! I am working feverishly to finish my half bath and will have a full reveal in a few days. I have a long way to go on it. Right now it just looks like this….
…and this…
Yes, I have my work cut out for me this weekend!
My original plan was to do a tiled wall behind the sink like this:
I LOVE this look, but unfortunately our budget wouldn’t allow for it after the cost of having the entire bathroom rewired. So here is the new design plan:
And to add some storage, I will install shelves behind the toilet to look something like this:

We changed out the faucet from an oil-rubbed bronze to a shiny chrome. I know that ORB is still very popular, but I was tired of it and ready for a change. Below you can see a before picture of my towel and toilet paper holder.
I spray painted them with Champion Sterling Silver spray enamel and they look great! If you’re looking for a chrome/mirror-like finish this stuff rocks. You can actually see yourself in the finish! I’ve used this same can for several small projects, and I still have about half a can left. I highly recommend it.
Okay, I need to get back to painting and wallpapering! Hopefully all we be done and show-worthy soon!

I am SO inspired by your bathroom remodel. Your style is great. I too am wondering where you found that great wallpaper. I have been looking to find a brand of wallpaper that has great style or maybe a store that has them. Since you are part of the Lowe’s Inspiration network I thought maybe you got it there? Could you tell me what the style is and where you found it?
Appreciate it!

I LOVE this bathroom remodel, you totally inspired me, and I am planning on copying just about everything you did. I didn’t see where you stated the name of the wallpaper? I can’t find it anywhere? Thank YOU!

I really love your blog, but the blogher ads are really getting out of control. I can’t read your posts without one of the ads floating over your text. Today it was a Head and Shoulder’s ad that wouldn’t close no matter how many times I clicked on “closed”.

Eek! I’m so sorry :(. Unfortunately my blog is my business and right now it’s our family’s only income since my husband is between jobs. My ads are crucial in keeping us afloat right now, and I also understand that they are annoying. If I was able to blog and make money without them, I would in a heartbeat. Thanks for understanding.

Your half-bath is going to look beautiful. Look forward to seeing your finished project!

I think your new bathroom design also looks lovely. Hang in there, Baby! And quit beating yourself up over the lost hardrive. I’ll bet most of us have had that happen at least once! I had it happen twice, and now I’m pretty good about backing up.
I bought an easy backup system from QVC called ClickFree and it works really well. I got one for my mom and her computer actually crashed and couldn’t be recovered (sound familiar) and ClickFree saved the day. It actually gives you reminders as often as you want and then you just plug the USB cable in. It does the rest!!
My mom was able to recover everything that she had backed up — easy peasy. Just a suggestion that’s working for me — and not too expensive.

I am on hold right now with Apple to get my Time Capsule fixed (it’s been blinking yellow for months). Thanks for the important reminder. So sorry you lost everything. Can’t wait to see your bathroom finished!!

Things are looking good in your half-bath. I like your plan!
I’m so sorry about your computer. We once lost 6 months of pictures and I still am sick about it, even though it was years ago. Some things you just can’t replace.

The half bath is looking great. Love the wallpaper and the shelves behind the toilet.
Sorry to hear about your computer. Hang in there.

It’s looking great! I totally hear you about the not backing up the computer…I’ve done that exact thing, lost everything, including tons of family pics…and yet here I sit with an external harddrive still sitting in the box, saying to myself, I’ll do it tomorrow. Yours is a good reminder to all of us! Sorry Beth. Little Bit from DecorateWithaLittleBit.com

Can’t wait to see how it comes out. My half bath is stuck in the “I’ve ripped it apart now what” stage and I’m sure I’ll be gaining some inspiration from you.
So very, very sorry about your computer crash. Hang in there!

So sorry to hear about your hard drive! That stinks 🙁 well, at least when you get a new one it will be fresh and clean . I always liked that about a new computer, so organized in the beginning. Hopefully your family has pictures of your kids they can send to you 🙂 the wall paper will look great and I love the idea of the shelves behind the toilet.

I have a friend who had the same problem with her computer. Her husband put the hard drive in the freezer for a day, and was able to recover most of her files. I’m not sure how it worked (or if it will work for your computer), but it might be worth a shot? I love your blog…..good luck!
