A few weeks ago, I asked my husband what he’d like for his birthday and he replied, “a party”. Matt loves to eat and he loves to hang out with people, so a party is really a perfect gift request. However, our views on the amount of work one should invest in such affairs is drastically different. Matt would easily invite every friend, acquaintance, and stranger and figure that the party details will somehow take care of themselves. This is one of the things I love about him; this is also one of the things that drives me crazy :). Funny how that works, huh? Matt’s birthday party list rapidly grew from 10 adults to over 20. So today we hosted 23 adults and 10 kiddos and had more than enough food to spare. Seriously…we could have invited all those other friends, acquaintances, and strangers after all!
For this event, I was trying for a bit of a “Country Bed & Breakfast” theme. Asher announced to Matt, “Daddy, this year you’re having a Rooster Party!” I’m not sure how excited Matt was about his theme, but I know he loved his party. I love him, and I love to express that love through lots of little details! Even if that drives him crazy :). Thanks to all who came and made it a special day. Enjoy the pics.

It appears I’m not the only one making myself crazy for birthdays lately. I made it through Christian’s, my grandma’s 80th, and today is my dad’s 60th. The insanity is not over yet, but hopefully my life will return to normal soon.
It looked awesome,Beth. You are too great. Love you!!!!!
