Summer Mantel Link Party

Hi everyone! It’s been a long time since we’ve had a mantel party at my place, and I thought it would be fun to have an impromptu get together! My summer mantel is very neutral and beachy this year.

I found the little seagull yesterday at a store called the Christmas Tree Shop and knew he’d make a great addition to the vignette. I placed some broken willow sticks in a vase to add some height and texture and some shells and driftwood to contribute to the beachy vibe.

The gorgeous mirror was a recent score on Joss & Main!! Don’t you love Joss & Main sales? (You have to have an invite to access Joss & Main so if you need one, here you go. Although, as I’m writing this post they appear to be having some site issues. If you purchase something using that link, I receive credit so by all means feel free to buy something *wink*.) My mirror was originally priced at $274. Joss & Main had it priced at $84 but with a 25% off Memorial Day sale, I was able to snag it for $63. It is metal, and huge, and glorious, and exactly what I wanted!

The little sailboat was looking a bit too coppery in comparison to the mirror, so I smudged it up with some Rub ‘n Buff. The other beachy accessories were borrowed from other rooms in the house.

And one more full shot for you before you share with me your mantel!

  1. So loving your mantel! I’m always inspired by your style. Thank you for hosting the link party – I’ve added my mantel too.

  2. Beth, your mantel looks wonderful! I like the way your mantel decor is balanced but not exactly the same side to side. And I love that mirror. I’ve never bought anything at Joss and Main, but wow–what a steal that was!

You’ve mentioned Christmas Tree Shop before; you always seem to find great deals there.

I wish I had a summery mantel to link up with you. Alas, I’m just not a mantel-changer, except at Christmastime. So I’ll just appreciate yours from afar.

I hope all is going well as you’re in the countdown for Haven. God bless you all!

  3. LOVE your mirror! You will be able to use it so many places!

Also adore your mantel parties and always get great inspiration.

    Thanks for hosting!
    Amanda

  4. Hi Beth! Thanks for letting us link up. I shared a changeable frame idea that I think is pretty fun! You are the bestest!

  5. Lovely mantel! I went for a beachy look too. I need to fiddle with it a bit more and then it will go live either Sunday or Monday. I’ll link up then.
Love the mirror, it is quite a statement piece!

  6. I just finished rearranging my mantel, but I haven’t taken photos yet. I wish I had known! How long will you keep the link up?

I have that same copper sail boat. I like your idea of toning down the copper.

  17. How clever to change the mantel beyond just changing out flowers or candles. I like that every nook and cranny of a home can morph to accommodate changing tastes and whims. Fun blog.

  18. Thanks for hosting, your mantel is beautiful!

  19. I love mantels because they are one of the easiest spots in our homes to change up and reflect the season. The right combination of heights, colors, and textures, and you really can’t go wrong! You have inspired me to change-up my mantel. I recently posted about a piece of art my husband’s aunt painted that is on our mantel now. I need to decide if I want to keep it up there for summer. Can’t wait to see all of the mantels linked up to get inspired!

  20. thanks for the party, beth! great idea!

good luck this week! i’m sure you are one busy girl!

  21. Beautiful vignette, Beth! I’m just getting around to posting about my summer mantel so I apologize for being a bit late to the party! I love your new little bird and that mirror is SPECTACULAR for $64. Great summer mantel. :)

  22. So fun! Thanks for setting up this party. I’m have a ball looking through everyone’s ideas! Come on, summer! :-)

  23. Love the touches of gold your mantel has along with the shells – reminds me of sunset on the beach. :-) I don’t do a lot of seasonal changes, but the mantel is easy to update and makes me smile whenever I walk by, so thanks for your party motivation to “get on that.”

  3. [...] If you have been following me for awhile….you know I love to change out my mantle to reflect the season. I tweeted a preview pic last weekend….here are a few more pics. I just put this together with things that were around my house. Here is what I came up with…. Remembering summer… A large stone from a past trip to Mexico…. a big piece of driftwood from the lake last year…. a little footprint in the sand…(yes, I take plaster of paris to the beach…Captial D Dork!) An old picture of the kids blown up…they were about four in the picture…laughing about the water coming out of the hose…I love this picture :) Some seashells from trips to the beach along with seagrass and sand. All these things let us remember past vacations and fun days at the lake:) These footprints are easy to make and you don’t even need to go to the beach. You can use plain old sandbox sand. Just make a foot print deep enough to hold some mixed up plaster of paris. Let it set and then pick up the print and gently shake off the sand. A little baby foot to keep forever :) I love the carefree days of summer !! And they are almost here! Sharing at Stories A to Z [...]
