I hadn’t planned on creating a Thanksgiving wreath and mantel this year, but after finding a discarded pool noodle one thing just led to another!
As any good wreath addict would do, I grabbed that trashed pool noodle, taped it with packing tape, and then rummaged through my scrap materials to create a Thanksgiving wreath.
I wrapped the pool noodle with scraps of leftover fleece and burlap and then created some rolled fabric flowers with scrap material. The leaves were leftover from my Halloween mantel and are my favorite part! I had everyone in the family write things they are thankful for on the leaves and then we pinned them on with upholstery tacks.
Here is a closeup of some of our blessings.
I find the neutral palette and minimalism of this vignette soothing.
I really struggle with keeping things simple on my mantel (and in my life!), so I decided to try my hand at an understated look.
Brown pears and some bottles filled with faux pussy willows are the only accessories complimenting my wreath and so far I’m liking it.
Isn’t it fun when you can do a craft, involve your kiddos, decorate, and create something of value? Win win all around!

What a pretty wreath! I just made some out of hot water pipe insulators but they seem a bit thin. I am inspired to work on them again after seeing the lovely flowers you have added.

The thankful leaves are such a great idea! I like that you included one that says “blogging” but there is one that’s hard to read/see that I immediately thought said “the dentist”?!? 🙂

Just love it. It looks so soft and cozy too. Would love more info on the flowers if you can share. Those are adorable. The leaves are really special. The fact that you took that pool noodle and made this is so inpiring to all of us that have left over noodles at the end of the summer to throw away… Thanks for sharing…

I love the simple and understated. Less is more in this case! Helps you see the writing on the leaves!! I love letting my kids help with whatever craft I am doing. It take serious restraint on my part (not fixing it to make perfect lines etc!) but I really try!!
