Meet Beth

I’m honored that you clicked over here to learn a bit more about me. I am Beth, the creative talent behind Home Stories A to Z . I started this blog in January 2008 simply as a way to vent about my escapades with my two little boys, Asher and Zephan.

In January 2009, I discovered decorating, crafting, and design blogs and my world was forever transformed…and so was my blog! Decorating on a dime has always been a passion of mine, and I couldn’t resist joining the party.

Q. What sets you apart from the other trillion home blogs out there?
Well, unlike some home bloggers, I possess zero special talents! Seriously. It’s true. I’m just incredibly tenacious, resourceful, and willing to take risks. What this means for you is that if I can do it, you sooooo can too! I try to do everything with a sense of humor and hope you laugh along with me (or at me….or both ). Most of my friends describe me as beingbluntauthentic, real, and down-to-earth. My goal is to encourage you to be the same! In a nutshell, I don’t take myself too seriously. I fumble through most of what I do. And most importantly, I believe in creating beauty out of chaos and sharing the stories with you!

Q. What is your blog all about?
I am a home blogger and DIY’er. I mostly blog about projects and home improvements I make to my home. However, my blog is a bit of a variety show of home crafts, decor trend alerts, blogging tips, mantel link parties, occasional recipes, sponsored posts and giveaways. I also host a weekly link party on Tuesdays called Tutorials & Tips Tuesday and love to feature fab projects from other bloggers.

Q. Are you a real designer?
Nope. Although I sometimes wish I had a degree in design, my background is in counseling. I have my M.A. in Community and School Counseling and in my previous life worked as a family counselor and an elementary school counselor before becoming a work-at-home mom. I still try to help pay the mortgage by working as an amateur designer/decorator and addicted DIY’er.
