Deodorant stains are the WORST! If you’ve ever found yourself stuck in a dressing room only to notice that while changing clothes you’ve managed to get your deodorant all over you, you need to read this amazing quick tip! I’ve tried this on many different types of fabrics, and it has worked on each and every fabric that I’ve tried. Dry clean only? No problem! (rayon, polyester, silk, cotton, linen, many kinds of blends) This really is a super quick trick to removing deodorant, and I guarantee you will have the tool required! 😉
In this particular shirt, I had to take it back off in order to accomplish this trick. You may not have to do this if you find that you have enough fabric on hand at the bottom of your shirt. Take the inside of your shirt (so that part that is touching your skin as you’re wearing it) and very gently rub the flaky deodorant off of the outside of your shirt. I promise you it really is that simple! Using the exact same fabric against fabric is a classic remedy to removing stains. If you happen to use the sticky, gel type deodorant that leaves a mark similar to an oil based stain, this remedy will not work for you. This is for the powdery deodorant only. (I’ve always found that any brand spray and wash stain removal will get those stains out in the wash.) I’ve used this method countless times and it has ALWAYS worked for me! I picked this particular shirt as it is not an easy fabric to work with, and it worked just fine! If you have a stain on cotton, it will be even easier!
1. Flip your shirt up so that you find the inside of it like I have below.
2. Using the inside part of the shirt, gently rub the deodorant away.
And that’s really all there is to it! It is such a simple trick that it hardly seems like a “trick” at all, but it’s one to remember if you ever find yourself in need of this trick.
