As you already know, adding a touch of black and white to your room design is a tried and true way to punch up a room’s chic factor. And of course including a touch of animal print in the room is also a great way to go. Combine the two and you have the makings of a glamtastic room! So what is black and white and animal print all over? Er…besides zebra? Dalmatian of course! Or, I guess you could call it black and white cheetah but since a black and white cheetah print looks exactly like a dalmatian to me, I’m going with dalmatian.
Let’s explore a myriad of ways to incorporate dalmatian print (not black and white cheetah *wink*) in your home decor.
Dalmatian Print Home Decor
Dalmatian print fabric looks great when used to upholster chairs, headboards, and ottomans. For a more subtle touch, consider adding a few spotted toss pillows or a dalmatian-spot framed wall art to your room. Notice in the pictures below that pinks and purples are often used in color story of the room. You just can’t go wrong with black, white, and pink!
Dalmatian Print Wallpaper: Thibaut Tanzania Wallpaper
Thiabaut Tanzania wallpaper comes in several fun colors and has been around for years. The black and white dalmatian print seems to be the most popular. Below you can see the wallpaper pictured in an office, dining room, living room, and bathroom and it looks fantastic in each and every space! I couldn’t secure an actual price per roll for the US but in the UK it sells for around $70 a roll.
DIY Dalmatian Print Home Decor (with a Sharpie or Paint)
These next few pictures are my favorite of the bunch because they show you how to get the high-end look for less! All you need is some patience, a sharpie, and/or some black paint. You can also purchase some dalmatian craft fur or black spotted fabric to create your own dalmatian home decor. Premier Prints used to carry a fab fabric called Togo but it’s discontinued. Your best bet is to bust out your craft supplies!
See those dining chairs? Those dots are 100% sharpie.
That wall? A paint brush and some black paint (and who know how many hours!) were all that it took.
That cute Ikea chair? Attacked with a black sharpie!
The curtain? Paint and a stencil!
The wall art? Dalmatian print fabric (wrong-side out to lighten it up)!
That lampshade? You guessed it. A sharpie attack!
That bed? Well, those are real dalmatians. They work in a pinch as great “toss pillow” accessories! 🙂
I hope you feel empowered to go forth and get your dalmatian on! I’d love to hear what you think of the black and white spot trend. Are you ready to try it out in a room of your own?

Have totally been eyeing that Thibault wallpaper in black and white for about a year now and can’t wait to get my hands on it for our new house. Totally loving this trend!
