This week I was fortunate enough to get away for an overnight stay in Lancaster, PA with a dear friend from college. Although Lancaster is just a skip away from where I live, I’ve never really toured the town. It’s other-worldly in its quaint charm! If you are into thrifting and antiquing it’s other-worldy in its awesomeness! I saw six grain sacks at a silent auction for only $16. I saw tables made from old barn doors listed at Walmart prices. It was amazing.
Alas and alack I’m on a budget freeze remember? Well, I unfroze it just a smidgen, just a bit of a summer thaw if you will. I used some of my birthday money to take advantage of some too-good-to-be-true deals. This sweet jewelry box below was one of my acquisitions.
It is solid wood with pretty green velvet-lined drawers. I thought it looked perfect for organizing small items in my future craft closet! I loved it but didn’t love the color or the caning.
Out came the Heirloom White spray paint and the scrapbook paper and now she’s adorable! Seriously, what decorating problem can’t be solved with spray paint and scrapbook paper???
I love it! Not bad for $3 and some craft supplies huh? Nope, not bad at all!

What did you attach the scrapbooking paper to? How do you make sure it won't tear?

Beth- I LOVE THIS! I don't know if I would have seen the potential in this. I showed my boys and said look how ugly it was and look how pretty. I would never have bought that ugly thing, And they told me I don't know mom you do buy ugly things. Gotta love them 🙂
But I did cart home a ugly coffee table and dresser that I hope will have such a wonderful makeover as this soon.

Whoa!!! Now THAT's a makeover! We have a similar jewelry box that was my mother-in-law's and I've been itching to redo it but technically it's my hubby's so I haven't said anything yet. I'll show him pics of yours and I think it'll convince him. Great job!
