Tutorials & Tips Tuesday {3} & Flexi Clip Giveaway

Congrats to Richella for winning last week’s giveaway from Simplify 101 for the Organize Your Paper Clutter Workshop!  If you didn’t win and want to sign up for the workshop, click on the link to gain some uber valuable organizing skills!
As I type this post, I am sitting on an uncomfortable bear bench, under an antler chandelier, surrounded by taxidermied wolves and a pretty horrible animatronic show.  Any guesses where I am?  No?  Well, I am on a much needed family vacation in Williamsburg, VA at Great Wolf Lodge enjoying an indoor water park.  My boys are in seventh heaven, and I have to admit that I’m having a ton of fun as well!
So even though I’m a bit waterlogged from the day, I still have a fabulous giveaway to offer you!  My new sponsor, Paula from Lilla Rose, is offering one of you a chance at winning a Flexi Hair Clip.  If you aren’t familiar with Lilla Rose, their product line centers around unique, functional, and well made hair jewelry.  They also offer Hair Sticks, Orings, Hairbands, Bobby Pins, and jewelry!
I have had a few weeks to play with my Flexi Clip and I have to say that it is nothing short of awesome.  I love to wear my hair up, but I often suffer from ponytail headache by the end of the day.  This little clip is uber comfortable and so incredibly versatile and easy to use.  Just watch my video tutorial where I show you very quickly three unique styles you can create with this clip!
Would you like a chance to win your own flexi clip?
To qualify for the giveaway please do the following:
  • Mandatory-Watch the sizing video and leave a comment letting me know what size you are.
  • Optional- “Like” the Lilla Rose Facebook page and leave me a comment here letting me know you liked!
  • Optional-Tweet or Facebook this link and leave a comment letting me know that you did.
If you can’t wait to see if you are the winner, go ahead and click on Lilla Rose to do some shopping!

And now it’s your turn to show off your Tutorials and Tips!  Recipes, crafts, decor projects, and all helpful tips count as posts to link up.

If you don’t explain in your post how you ended up
with your final product,
please do not link up.
Tips and Tutorials only please!

Also, please use the button or link back to this post.  Please do not just use “linking to these great parties here if you want to link to this party.  This has to do with the business side of blogging, and I hope to devote an entire post as to “why” soon!

I’m excited to see what you’ve been up to!

Thank you for hosting the party. I've linked up and am looking forward to seeing what people have been up to. I have two of those flexi-clips. That video reminds me I could be doing a lot more with them than having them sit in a drawer…

Hi! I would wear a size small for my hair and my daughters would wear extra smalls and minis! Great giveaway!

  3. Chandeen @ Designed by Chance says:

Those flexi clips look great! I totally want one. I think I'm a small but would need a medium if I tried a french twist.

  4. Hi! I broke my "Blossoming Branches" link (#18, I think). I'm sorry! I just wanted to let you know so it could be deleted. :)

I also liked Lilla rose on fb.

  6. Hi, Beth! I've admired your blog for sometime and also happen to live outside of Harrisburg – small world! I just launched my blog this week and this is my very first tutorial – the Shamrock Tee Tutorial. Hope it is helpful to someone! Oh – and I love the flexi-clip. I think I'd be a medium. :)

  7. With my thick, waist length hair I am an extra large.

I just wanted to say thank you for hosting the linky party! The knife block (#30) is my 1st project I've put on my blog, and I'm so happy with how it turned out, so I'm thrilled to share it. =)

I expected to need the Extra Large with my waist-length hair but, after the tutorial, I know that since my hair's thin I only need the large.

  17. Southern Fried Gal says:

I'm so excited that you are doing this party – it gave me the oomph I needed to write my tutorial for the diaper trike. Several have asked for it so thank you for the motivation!

The hair thingies are so cute – much nicer than the pencil I sometimes use! I guess I would be a medium.

    Have a blessed week!

  18. The Decorative Dreamer says:

I have two flexiclips I purchased at the crafts fair this christmas! I love how they look and hope I can use them this summer with my hair a little shorter now. But they are wonderful!

  19. Jess @ Frugal with a Flourish says:

How fun! Thanks for hosting girl! I am always looking for new ways to wear my hair up since I can't stand to fix it but also can't stand to cut it! I will try a medium for the full up look!

You have a fantastic time in VA! Are you going to Busch Gardens? Take a ride on the Griffon for me! :)

  20. I've been wanting these clips for a while now, and already know that my size is either a small or extra-small (can't decide whether I'd do more pony tails or updoes).

This is a great giveaway — thanks for the chance to win one of these ingenious clips!

  21. Kim @ Savvy Southern Style says:

Beth, thanks for hosting this party and thank you for telling people not to just say linking to these parties here. That drives me nuts at my party too. I am deleting the ones who don't link correctly. I have told them till I am blue in the face. One girl told me it was too much work to type out all the links. Hey it is hard work going through each link up.

  22. Richella says:

I won the Organize Your Paper Clutter giveaway??? My husband will be thrilled! I think sometimes he feels like he's going to choke on all my paper clutter–I'm the world's worst!

Looks like your idea for a Tuesday party was a great one! I'm joining today with a quick little tip. Thank you for hosting!

  23. I think my daughter would wear a med. I am thinking this might be perfect for her wedding to wear instead of a flower.

  24. HoosierHomemade says:

Very cool! How did I miss your linky party??
    Thanks so much for hosting!

  54. I liked Lilla Rose on facebook

  55. I posted this blog on my Facebook.

  56. I accidentally left my name, rather than the name of my post in my link up there. When will I learn? :) . I can't wait to have fun with some of the other links–I just scrolled down and saw lots of fun ideas. As for the givaway, they look like they could elevate my lazy day ponytail style into something that at least looks a little more intentional. I think I'd need a medium–I have really thick, but not super long hair.

Beth, I don't have a Tip or Tutorial this week, but I wanted to encourage you to write that "Business Side of Blogging" post. I will Tweet, link, and FB the heck out of it. ;)

Without going into detail, I'll just say that it is a huge hassle to get people to link back (the old fashioned way!) these days, and it's really discouraging when you're trying to grow a blog party. :(

  61. Marianne says:

I watched the sizing video and as my hair is just growing out after 7 years of pixie cut, it being very straight and very fine I find I would need the extra small size. Hope I get picked since I have nothing but my 6 year olds pink hairties to put in my hair at this time.

  62. Good Time Charlie says:

Great party! I wish I had a enough hair for a flexi clip, too cute. I am short hair only kinda gal. If I finish today's project I will link up. Adorable blog! You are one creative lady!

  63. UtahMillers says:

  72. BEAUTIFUL sunset, thanks for sharing. :)

  73. lessymac says:

with my thick, wavy hair I would probably use a small, maybe a medium for french twist. I like the fact that it's flexible and wouldn't give me a hair headache (too true) like my old favorite banana clips.

  74. I think I would need an extra-small and a small. I really want to try these!!

Hi, I haven't got beautiful long hair as you, mine is mid length and still growing, so I can do a half-up and would love a mini flexible clip to do that! Thank you for all the great posts! Love them!
