Mailbox Valentine Countdown and Silhouette Sale {and giveaway!!!}

This project turned out so cute, and I’m excited to share it with you today! I decided to make a Valentine’s countdown calendar for the boys using my Silhouette Cameo. I was hoping that the online Silhouette store had a 3D mailbox design and was thrilled to find this one.

mailbox valentines

I sized my mailboxes to my liking using the Silhouette software, printed them out on bright scrapbook paper, and then assembled and glued them together. Each day leading up to Valentine’s Day my boys will have a mailbox to open which contains a Valentine’s coupon. I wrote things such as the following on the coupons: 15 minutes extra bedtime curfew, 30 mins computer time, DVD of choice, choose what we have for dinner one night, homemade cookies, get a sucker from the candy jar, story-time with Mommy with book of choice, permission to jump on Mommy & Daddy’s bed for 5 minutes, etc. Those might not work for you at all, but if you’re looking for some ideas I thought I’d list some!

For this project I used:

I used a herringbone patterned sheet of scrapbook paper for the numbers which was a mistake. They are difficult to make out on the side of the mailboxes but still look cute.

And below is a “pinnable” collage for you in case you’d like to pin this project to Pinterest (which would totally make my day)!
