Are you tired of seeing my dining room yet? Well bear with me here as I tell you about my new best friend…Mr. Drop Cloth. No where else can you get this much material for so little money. And, I know you are probably expecting this from me by now, but do yourself a favor, save some money, and buy your drop-cloth-fabric at Big Lots. It’s so much cheaper! So here’s a pic of the before (which in a pretty recent post was the after. 🙂
And below is the after. The wall is painted green instead of yellow. The drop cloths…uh…I mean curtains soften the window and compliment the seagrass rug. And most importantly, I am no longer driven crazy as I look out my window at my pretty yellow and pink begonias clashing with my blood red curtains! Before you gush too much about how you hated my “mistreatments“, you should know that come Christmas-time they will be back up there! I always appreciate honesty, but just thought I should warn you.
Before. Dark and dramatic and very non-summery.
After. Ahhhhhh. Lighter. Fresher. I can almost feel a summer breeze whisking through my hair.
What is currently in my apothecary jars you ask? Okay, so maybe you could care less, but I’m going to show you anyhow. In the first I have spools of pretty ribbon and a pencil starfish, in the next I have moss and a candle, and in the last I have some silver utensils on display. Love it! What in the world is that yellow thing shining through my jars???
These crazy clown cars are popping up all over the city. I think if I had one of these babies I could actually parallel park! Well, one can always dream.

Found you from Chris. I am loving the transformation. I too am a decoarator with the seasons. You can't have dark curtains when it's warm-
I am loving the drop cloth curtains that others are posting everywhere. Now, I am thinking that I really need to get me some. THanks for the inspiration. I will be back!!

Chrissy, patience my dear sister. Michaela, you didn't miss it. I didn't explain. You have to buy ring clips which can be pricey. I bought mine at Joann's with a 40% off coupon. Oh and feel free to borrow any ideas. That's why I post them!

Love them! Quick question – how did you attach them to th curtain pole? Did you make fabric loops or use clip type things on the fabric?? Sorry – if you have explained this already – and I didn't read the post properly!
BTW – Have been thinking about the using similar jars in a window here! Am totally go to "borrow" the moss/candle/ribbon idea. I love how it looks!
Looking forward to hearing about the cushions!
