Layer shells over one another to cover any white spaces and use smaller shells to fill in the gaps. Â When I was finished, this is what it looked like. Â As you can see, it’s not perfectly round but I didn’t want a perfect purchased look. Â I wanted something more organic—like all the shells had adhered themselves around a fishing glass float. Â And here is the other side. Â Do you see that gorgeous shiny shell? Â That was quite a special find! These would look so great sitting on a coffee table as decorative orbs . Since I didn’t have enough small shells to make more than one, I decided to wrap a creamy ribbon around it and make a kissing ball. Â Beautiful!Â
While we’re talking shells here, I wanted to share another idea with you. Â These sweet shell hors doeuvre toothpicks were given as a hostess gift. Â They are very affordable to purchase, but if you happened to hit the motherlode on baby shells, what a sweet homemade gift these would make. Â They would look equally cute on swizzle sticks. Â
Happy beach combing everyone!
Beach Ball (Kissing Ball that is)
Put those beachcombing treasures to good use as a keepsake from that recent romantic beach vacation (or not-so-romantic if you have small children staying in your bedroom crying all night and contracting stomach flu–but I digress.) Â Simply take Styrofoam craft balls, hot glue, and your shells and go to town!

I think this is a great idea! Right now I have a huge basket of wicker balls on my table, but now I might have to make some seashell balls.
Thanks for the great idea…hope you weren't sick for too long!
