Welcome to my simple and cozy black and white farmhouse living room tour!
Hello friends and welcome to my Christmas living room tour! I can honestly say this was probably the most difficult room to decorate and shoot due to some unusual extenuating circumstances! I decorated and shot my living room in a day in between catering to a sick rescue dog (with an unusual amount of energy) and catering to my three other animals who are a bit intimidated by her!
This seven month old Great Pyrenees rescue puppy is named Aspen. I am fostering her until Thanksgiving when she will go to her forever family—which also happens to be part of MY forever family! My sister Kim is adopting Aspen, and I couldn’t be more thrilled about it.❤️ Aspen has had a bumpy start to life, and it’s wonderful to be a small part towards her new, stable, and healthy beginning!
We renovated our family room earlier this year, and I was so excited to be able to decorate it for Christmas. I chose to keep things clean and simple by carrying the black and white theme of the kitchen over into the living room. I used ticking stripe, buffalo check, and velvet textiles to create a cozy farmhouse vibe. The pillow covers are all from Amazon and Walmart and are linked for you below!

Everything looks so pretty and festive from up on the balcony!
Black and White Christmas Tree
I decided to use a 7.5 foot tree in here this year instead of our 9 foot tree. I used mostly white and black ornaments and some ticking stripe ribbon to decorate. Sinc the tree is heavily flocked it was looking a little flat in photos. I added some fresh cedar clippings from one of our trees and love the little pops of green!
Here is a closeup look at the tree for you! I found the little buffalo check horses at Walmart this year.
Modern Farmhouse Christmas Mantel
Beautiful Christmas garlands can be very expensive to buy. Over the years, I’ve found it is often more affordable to mix and match different garlands together to create the look you want rather than purchasing a ready-made garland. For this garland, I used two Hobby Lobby eucalyptus garlands and one Walmart Holiday Time pinecone garland. The cute cable knit stockings are an affordable find from Amazon and can be purchased here, Ivory White Knit Christmas Stockings.
Aspen was such a good model for the photoshoot! She looks like a cute polar bear or sheepskin rug.
Festive Drink Station
I placed more of my Walmart pinecone garland around my oversized mirror to create a festive display above the bar cart. I layered it on top of an inexpensive plain garland to create a fuller look.
Now my drink station is ready for some Christmas merry making!
Black and White Christmas Coffee Table Vignette
I think mixing real and faux is the way to go! On the coffee table, I created a centerpiece by mixing a few fresh hydrangeas, cedar clippings, and faux flocked picks together in a galvanized ice bucket.
Using a tray or basket on your coffee table is a great way to ground all of your coffee table decor. A galvanized pine candle, fresh rosemary in a cream pitcher, and a white sparkly mini tree create a lovely focal point.
I’m so glad you stopped by today to tour my Christmas living room!

It all looks so nice. Maybe this is a dumb question, but how do you hang your garland on the mantle like that? It is so perfect? Also, where did you get your couches?
Beth says
Not dumb at all! I use command hooks and floral wire. The sofas are from Pottery Barn.
