Aren’t they cute? I can’t wait for them to arrive in the mail. Those three little guys above are my latest giveaway win. Hooray for free stuff! In the past six months, I have won two vinyl decals, a botanical print, and now these adorable Santas. If you’re saying to yourself, hmmmm….yay for you. I have to say that I am typically that person too. The person who never wins ANYTHING. I know it’s all about chance and stats, but I seriously have felt like anything resting on “chance” was not in my favor. Anything I’ve ever received….grades, jobs, opportunities, friends, even husband :)…I have had to work my butt off for. Well actually, I have quite an ample backside which seems to be spreading with the holiday cheer, but you know what I mean. I have never been that girl that has things just fall into her lap. Don’t get me wrong. I can hardly say I’ve had it rough in life, but I’ve had to work hard for the things I have. That hard work has built a tenacious spirit within me which has proved immensely valuable. Moral to this story? I don’t know. Perhaps, don’t be a hata be a playa? Or how about this: Enter enough giveaways and you are bound to win at some point!
My Santas
The supplier of my Santa cuties is Hudson Goods, one of The Lettered Cottage sponsors. While perusing their website, I came across these very cool metal flower cage pendant lights. I think we’re going to be seeing a lot more of this type of lighting this year. People will buy those bare bulb kits from Ikea and stick them inside bird cages, metal baskets, and old crab pots. (If you steal this idea, give me credit. 🙂Does anyone else recognize these lights? I had just seen them (on p. 70) of the Dec/Jan House Beautiful magazine. The website source that House Beautiful sites doesn’t appear to be carrying these lights right now. I let Hudson Goods know this little piece of information and hopefully that will help them in their sales. Why tell them? Well, because anyone who is willing to giveaway $50 worth of cute Santas in my book deserves some sales! A generous spirit and a giving heart should be rewarded. Second moral lesson for today: Be generous with your resources….whatever they might be. Share. It’s what I try to do with you each day…and I love it! Sharing with you brings me so much joy, and I am so thankful for all of you who take the time to read my blog.
Love to you friends. Happy (early) Thanksgiving!

: ) you are a design psychic! And you are so right! I was totally inspired by those cage lights I've been seeing in magazines and on blogs.

What fun – you are lucky! I enter those all the time but never win. Oh well…
I love those lights. Ballard Designs sells some similar ones – but they are very pricey.
XOXO

The Santa's are cute! I never seem to win contests. Of course, I don't enter many either. (Could be the reason, huh?) My husband won a drawing at a fundraiser years ago. He won a curling iron! What made that even funnier was – he has very little HAIR! He really enjoyed that walk to pick up his prize!

Beautiful Santas! And those lights are super cool! I could find a home for those-wouldn't they look cool in a group of three over the kitchen table?

It might be a good time to buy a lottery ticket! Love the Santas!

They are so cute! You have to show us where you place them. I would have said the same thing, but apparently this has been my lucky month. As you know, I've won a few giveaways {my 19 year old son thinks that scarf is so soft ~ I told him to step away from it!} I enter so many giveaways and I'm going to go with that as the reason. Believe me when I say I'm surprised to find out I've won. I bought a Lotto ticket today ~ let's see if it extends beyond blog land! : )

Congratulations on your win. I love the Santas. I have a few myself and am starting to think about how I am going to display them this year.
