I recently shared our Red Plaid Christmas Home Tour in all of it’s warm, cozy, and plaid glory! If you missed viewing our house decked out in plaid, then please click here. There is nothing quite as welcoming as traditional red and greens at Christmastime; however, truth be told I equally adore creams, whites, and metallics for the holidays. The soft neutrals give the house a glam look that seamlessly transitions into winter. I created a winter white Christmas dining room using a few new items and things I had on hand.
The gorgeous cable knit table runner and cable knit tree garlands were purchased during Black Friday with plans to incorporate them into the 12 Days of Christmas Dining Room. But once I placed the cozy table runner on the table, the rest of the room wanted to be winter white with hints of silver and gold. Who was I to say differently?
I stripped away most of the table decor and wall decor and quieted the room so that it could speak to me. This is typically what I do whenever I create a new look for a space. Maybe that sounds weird, but I think most of us who are passionate about decorating go through a similar creative process. It’s hard to create something new when all of the old is still visually screaming at you. It’s much easier when you clear out all of the clutter so that the new has space to take shape.
Above the sideboard I knew I wanted something gold, and this old frame in the attic was perfect! I zigzagged a piece of rope to the empty frame and clipped some items to clothespins to add visual interest.
We use the sideboard as a beverage station, so I readied a few wine glasses for the occasion.
The little hoop wreaths were a last minute creation I made using mini-embroidery hoops and some ribbon I had on hand. The green leaf wire ribbon was a Target find last year.
You can find all of the sources for the dining room including this barware at the end of the post!
I love how elegant it looks and we have already enjoyed a few meals in this space!
