My family lives in an area of Virginia called Hampton Roads. It is comprised of several cities, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and Chesapeake being among the most well known. Someday, I would love to move back “home”. And if (when?) I do, I would LOVE to move into one of architect, Stephen Alexander’s homes. A girl can dream, right? If you adore beadboard, board and batten, crown molding, lofted ceilings, and attention to architectural detail, a Stephen Alexander home is for you! So gorgeous I just had to share. Sigh. Hey I was checking my google clickthroughs and see that many of you readers found us through your blog. Thanks for the plug. If you and your husband are in town look us up on facebook(stephena lexander homes and neighborhoods) we have new historic cottages out this year worth seeing.
Again thanks for appreciating all things home.

I toured this home at Homearama a few weeks ago. It's even more lovely in person. You walk in and instantly you feel "at home". He is an official Southern Living builder and everything he does is just gorgeous, not to mention functional and SMART! He's one of the best builders I have ever seen. Q.U.A.L.I.T.Y.
Those homes remind me of the Virginia Highland & Druid Hills neighborhoods here in Atlanta. I've always loved older architecture with lots of detail inside. The trouble is, it's so hard to find something with updated systems. This is the best of both worlds-how beautiful. Thanks for the tip about the reds-I was going to go with a modified RL color (not the one I sampled), but I'm going to look for those you suggested tomorrow. Focusing on a blue undertone clarifies what I'm looking for–you were the blogger I was looking for! Thanks so much for your help, and thanks for stopping by!
What a beautiful house. Thanks for posting it. Have you been to Hooked on Houses? I bet she would love to see your video and share it with others. hookedonhouses.net.

Now THAT was fun. Of course, you really can't go wrong when you've got Frank crooning in the background. Beautiful home!
Hi! I grew up in Virginia and spent most of my life in Chesapeake. My sons live in Great Bridge. I am also transplanted in Pennsylvania right now. How crazy is that?!
