Vintage Chic Coffee Table Styling Tips
I was thrilled to find this french country tufted ottoman coffee table for such a great price! I had my eye on a different one that was twice this price so I’m so happy that I was able to find something within my budget. The ottoman arrived quickly, was easy to assemble, and is sturdy and beautiful! The wood finish is a bit lighter than what I was expecting based on the product photo, but I’m pleased with it. I had fun styling the table today and thought I’d share with you some of my quick and easy coffee table styling tips!

Coffee Table Styling Tip 1: Use a tray to ground your items.
It’s always a good idea to ground some items with a tray, but especially when styling on a tufted ottoman! I purchased this very inexpensive Better Homes & Gardens Wooden Tray to provide a supportive base for my accessories. The gray wash is rustic and chic, and I love the simplicity of the design.
Coffee Table Styling Tip 2: Use the rule of three!
Three is company when it comes to creating a decorative vignette. This is not a hard-fast rule, but it’s a good go-to guideline to remember. Odd groupings tend to be more visually pleasing to the eye. Group three items together when styling any vignette.
Coffee Table Styling Tip 3: Think in visual triangles!
Placing objects high and low to create a visual triangle is more interesting to look at than items placed in a row. Vary the height and scale of your objects to add interest to your table.
Coffee Table Styling Tip 4: Take color palette cues from the room when choosing your coffee table decor.
Use objects that complement the colors and finishes used in your space. Woven baskets, worn finishes, wood beads, and muted pottery all look great in this space.
Coffee Table Styling Tip 5: Add some greenery!
Every space looks better with a touch of greenery! To instantly enliven your coffee table, clip some branches from the yard, pick up a bunch of eucalyptus, or use some faux greenery. I placed my branches in a nautical glass lantern from Walmart.
Coffee Table Styling Tip 6: Add some life to your coffee table!
Whether it’s fresh flowers, a bowl of fruit, or a bowl of cat, adding some life to your coffee table will enliven your entire space and make it feel more welcoming! 😉
