In my basement, this old Ikea frame sat dusty and forgotten. Since I’m in the process of giving my closet a little make-over (yes…my closet), I decided it could use some sort of bling on the walls. This picture frame would be just the thing. So, I spray painted it black–shocker, I know–and distressed it a bit.
Then I took an old beach cover-up of mine that was headed for Goodwill and blinged out my picture frame mat.
I just pulled and glued and cut and glued some more until it was covered.
Finally, I chose one of my favorite verses and in my very-font-like handwriting (I know you’re jealous) I scrawled out a reminder to myself on the glass in dry-erase marker. After all, this is in my closet, remember, and I don’t know about you, but putting on love isn’t always in the forefront of my mind when getting dressed each morning. I NEED this reminder.
For those of you incapable of reading my very beautiful-neat-wish-you-could-scribble-like-me handwriting, here is what it says:
- So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. Colosians 3:12 (The Message)
More on the closet to come in the near future. For now, I’m going to go to bed and I’ll try to clothe myself in some love. It’s late. I’m grouchy. Pray for me :).
I’m linking up today with I Made It Without My Hubby. Amazing, I know, considering how much I use my hubby for my creative projects! I’m also linking to Transformational Thursday. Check out the parties people and join in the fun!
