Me! Wahoo! I’m the winner! Some of you may remember that a few weeks ago I entered a contest offered by the Lean Remodeler and Wilsonart for custom storage solutions for my future craft room. The picture below is what my future craft room currently looks like…a mess. Knowing my luck, I receive the craft room of my dreams, have to pay the taxes on it, and hand it over to a new owner. Ah well. It’s a good lesson in holding all material things loosely and the room can only add value to my home, right? Right?! Sob!
My first task in the design process is to pick out my countertops. I asked if I could pick cabinets and countertops simultaneously but that’s just not how they roll. I’m a big picture kinda girl, so this was a very challenging task for me. I am fairly confident that I want white cabinetry installed, so with that in mind here are the TEN options I narrowed it down to.
- Tumbled Mosaic
My name is PJ. says
Yay!
You are a sea glass girl……all the way.

You are one lucky duck…
I voted…I picked the tumbled mosaic I think it would look smashing…it's not like it's a kitchen where I think I would have gone more neutral in case you do sell…
All the best,
Kathy 🙂

So happy for you. Please show us the craft room when it's done!

WOW, what a great prize, Beth! Lucky you! It's hard to narrow it down. I chose Durango, since it's light but still has some pop. I can see why others chose Sea Glass, but I always get nervous about committing to a color on a countertop. You could regret it 5 years later.

Congrats on the win! I so hope you don't have to sell your house 🙁
Heather@PixieDust says
congrats on the big win!! i hope they let you postpone the renovation until you know if you are selling or not.

OMGosh! I couldn't pick just one! Wow. What a win!! And you're right, it's just gonna add value to your house. 🙂 I know, I know – – it's gonna be sooooo hard to leave tho. *sigh*
I feel your pain. I'm just now getting some rooms in my house up to par and now I'm having to put it on the market.
I chose the walnut – classic and timeless. I LOVE all of them, but for resale value….
I've got some good packing/organizing tips if you need 'em. Let me know. Blessings!

I voted for Durango and I just wanted to point out (as a fellow crafter) that the Durango looks like it would be a forgiving surface. I also like the Sea Glass, but I'm afraid with it's light colors, it might show more if any crafty supplies were to attack. 🙂 Either way, you've got some great options though!

I went for seaglass b/c it's so different. 🙂 Would really pop against the white cabinets!

Congrats Beth!!!!! EIther way you totally deserved to win! Have fun designing your new room! Enjouy it while u can and know HE has a reason for everything and the "Big Picture" isn't always revealed in our time but in HIS:)
Kristi @ Creative Kristi says
It is terrible timing but maybe some of the things won't be nailed down & you can take them with you?!?
Kathy @ Creative Home Expressions says
Possible bittersweetness there, Beth, I'm sure. Congrats on winning anyway! I voted and I was wondering if the wall color was staying. I went with a neutral ~ I think it will go over better if you do have to sell, but still look good with your existing room.
Erin says
The poll isn't working for me but I would choose either the Sea Glass or Brighton Walnut.

Congrats Beth that will only add to the value of your home so you should look at it that way. They are all gorgeous choices. Oh by the way my husband has till end of july at his job and he is on the hunt for a new one now as well. Last time he was out of work for 4 months. Hopefully we will both have good luck with that situation too!
Liz @ Sugarplum Creations says
Oh wow! Congratulations!!! All the choices are beautiful. Can't wait to see the finished product!
Chris says
Well that was just ridiculous. How in the world am I supposed to narrow it down to 1??!! I chose, but there were two others WELL within the running. I'm so jealous of you right now–in a friend kind of way, of course!

Hooray for you!! 🙂
