This morning, I put together some wall art for my master bedroom redo using items I already had around the house. Below is a picture I took last month for my Ready Set Vignette party. I was liking the look of the empty frame with the sea star, but I wanted to use some pieces of fabric that I had originally purchased for throw pillows (but decided I didn’t like).
I simply wrapped fabric around the frame and glued it into place with hot glue and ta-da! Art!
For those who like visuals, here you go. I pulled the fabric tight around all the edges and cut it down to size.
Then, I just used a bead of glue around the perimeter of the frame and smoothed the fabric as I glued. Place the back on your frame, glue some things on the front, and you are done!
This guy was looking a bit boring and lonely….
…so I added a little burlap “matting”…
…and then some buttons to finish off the look.
For this one, I used rocks in the corners, a stick from outside, some twiggy things which came from inside one of my nests, and a bird that came in a flower arrangement after my dad passed away.
These are real marble eggs that I found on clearance for $1 each after Easter at the Cracker Barrel of all places. I used a ginormous blob of glue on each egg to secure it in place. Then, I wrapped some jute rope around them to make a little nest. This one is actually my favorite.
Aren’t they cute? And since I already had everything, they didn’t cost me anything extra!
Here is what was on my wall before (more DIY art):
And after:
I love it!
