Spring Decorating Ideas
Welcome to my spring home tour! Today I’m teaming up with an amazing group of bloggers, HomeGoods, and Country Living magazine to bring you some simple and affordable spring decorating ideas! Thanks to HomeGoods for sponsoring our spring home tour! I’ve packed this post with inspirational pictures and helpful room-by-room tips to get your home spring ready. For your convenience, the source list and affiliate links for featured products are listed and linked under the last picture of each room. Enjoy!
Spring Dining Room Decorating Ideas: Set Your Table
Don’t underestimate the power of a beautifully set table! Seasonal tablescapes are an easy way to bring instant cheer to your dining room. It doesn’t matter to me if a holiday is a month away. I enjoy setting the table early and enjoying the fruits of my labor for more than one special meal!
When planning any tablescape, I typically start with an inspiration object and springboard my design plan from there. These adorable bunny plates and green and white check napkins from HomeGoods were just the inspiration I needed to pull together a pretty Easter table. I utilized the pink, green, white, and robin’s egg blue color palette throughout the rest of the table.
One tablescape trend I love to implement is the “live runner”. Instead of using a fabric table runner, I use plants, flowers, or garlands down the center of the table. Bud vases in troughs are a great way to ground your runner and make a dramatic visual impact with just a few flowers.
The white bunnies are all from Target’s Dollar Spot. I tucked some faux grass into the bunny candy dishes and used them to flank my live runner.

For my large centerpiece, I tucked lilies, hypericum berries, tulips, and greenery into a bowl and propped it up on two cake stands. I then scattered some faux easter eggs around the base of the cake stand to incorporate a touch of blue. The end result is stunning!

Spring Kitchen Decorating Ideas: Tidy the Kitchen
Plopping down a fresh bouquet of tulips in a sink full of dirty dishes unfortunately won’t give you the spring satisfaction you are craving! Therefore, my number one tip for bringing instant spring into your kitchen is to clean it! Decluttering your kitchen counters and thoroughly cleaning your kitchen will do wonders for your space. Check out my 5 Tips to Keeping a Clean Kitchen for more details on how I pull this off daily with messy boys (and a messy husband). 😉
If you don’t have an appliance garage in your kitchen, then try to follow the 2-3 countertop appliance rule. I’m a total rule breaker, but this is one I follow. Only allowing 2-3 vital appliances to take up your counter space will keep your kitchen looking so much cleaner!
My second best tip is to utilize your produce as kitchen decor. Instead of tucking away all of the fruits and veggies in the crisper, I like to keep some of my produce propped on tiered trays and cake stands around the kitchen. We tend to make healthier snack choices when produce is readily available to nibble on. And besides, they look beautiful displayed where everyone can see them!
Adorable dishtowels are one of my decor weaknesses! I found this cute dishtowel at HomeGoods and just had to have it. I am well-known for my song and dance performances held daily in our kitchen. My kids no longer even bat an eye when I break out into a dance. 🙈 😂
I know open kitchen shelves aren’t for everyone, but I adore ours. I simply removed a few of the cabinet doors to create the look I was craving. Everything on the shelves is regularly used and easy to reach. If you have open shelves, they are a wonderful way to change the look of your kitchen by displaying seasonal dishes.
A small nosegay of flowers tucked into a cute pitcher from HomeGoods makes loading the dishwasher a bit more pleasant!

SO FANCY with the ‘click to page 2″ feature!! Also Beth, I can’t get enough of your house. Our color pallets are similar and I could easily move right in with you! 😉 That brick wall (all the heart eyes)! I’m sure you’ve shown it before but I never realized how the eat-in kitchen table fit into the orientation of your kitchen! I love it!
Beth says
Ha! Because I went a little bit overboard on the pics the post wasn’t loading quickly or properly. The page 2 seemed to help! And thanks girl! You know how much I adore your home and I completely agree. We share a similar decor brain…and I like it. 🙂 Thanks again for inviting me to join your tour!

Hi Jamie! I love your area rug under your dining table ! It’s soooooo pretty. Did you share where you found it, and I missed it (if so, sorry about that!). Do you mind sharing where you bought it? I’d love to get one!

Beth says
Hi Lynne, My dining room rug was purchased at Pottery Barn years ago. It’s a wool and jute rug and has held-up so well over the years. They don’t have this lighter color any longer but do have a slightly darker one that I love here: http://rstyle.me/n/ch6gqsn7aw

Your home is decorated so beautiful for spring but especially love the the white lace up boots…where did you get them?
Beth says
Thanks! Those little boots are sort of my signature item. I include them every year in my home tours and change out the laces to fit my decor. 🙂 I’ve had them for a decade and unfortunately can’t find something similar. I bought them at a discount store.

Thanks Kim! I’ll try and do a post on how I arrange flowers. It’s a simple use of floral foam and scotch tape.
