Welcome to my spring home tour! Today I am sharing 9 tips for effortless spring decorating that will help you decorate your space for spring with minimal fuss. These tips do not require you to own powertools, have any special skills, or acquire any new accessories. You can shop your house (and shop your yard if necessary) to implement these 9 effortless spring decorating tips! Let’s get to it.
Tip 1: Spruce up Your Door & Porch for Spring
Whether you have a grand front porch or a humble front door, the appearance of your entryway will be greatly improved with some door decor! I’m a huge fan of creative door decor that goes beyond a wreath and love to hang my Letter H Succulent “Wreath” this time of year.  Using container planters on either side of your door is also a great way to bring in some color for the season. For my urns, I simply placed hanging snapdragon baskets directly into the planters for some instant color.
Tip 2: Change Textiles to Make it Spring Cozy
We often think of fall and winter as our “cozy home” times, but a home should feel cozy year round! Your textiles–rugs, window treatments, toss pillows, and throw blankets—play an important role in determining how a space feels each season. Don’t be afraid to change some of your textiles and bring in colors and textures that compliment the season. If you don’t know where to begin, think about the fabrics and patterns you choose to wear in your seasonal wardrobe and use those texture options as inspiration for your home. Linen, cotton, and chambray in florals, stripes, and geometrics are all great choices for spring!
Tip 3: Use Spring Bulb Flowers Indoors
Every room deserves some fresh (or faux) flowers and greenery each season! I love to pick up inexpensive tulips, hyacinth, and lilies each spring. I enjoy them indoors until they are done flowering and then plant the bulbs in my backyard to enjoy next spring.
Tip 4: Faux Can Sometimes Be the Way to Go
Inexpensive filler greens placed in a pitcher is a lovely and frugal way to add something fresh to a room. I used to be a faux greenery and flower snob but that has changed in recent years. Almost all of the greenery in my family room is faux and no one needs to know. 😉
Tip 5: Use Books in Spring Colors to Decorate Your Mantel
I love using stacks of books in my decor. They instantly add a cozy charm to any space. A stack of kindles or iPads just doesn’t quite have the same character! 😉 To create instant filler accessories on your mantel or tabletop, choose books in shades of greens and blues and stack in horizontal and vertical stacks.
Tip 6: Take Advantage of FREE Spring Printables
I love to find free art and use it in my decor each season! If you are looking for some pretty spring printables, check out this post! All of the spring ephemera in the picture below were printed on my home computer for free.
I created these two printables just for you to download for free here.
Tip 7:Â Switch Up Your Wall Decor for Spring
While I have some pieces of artwork and wall decor that stays put for more than a season, most of my wall decor migrates to different walls all year long. I love to create new focal points in each room seasonally. For tips on How to Decorate with Plates check out this post!
Tip 8: Set a Spring Table
A set table always looks pretty and is a simple way to add some spring flair to your dining areas. I like to set my table a week before it’s necessary and just enjoy the ambiance of my tablescape.

Tip 9: Style Your Shelves for Spring
The open shelves in my kitchen were created by removing a few cabinet doors. I love to restyle the shelves each season to display different dish collections. For more tips on how to style shelves, be sure to check out this detailed post.
Bonus Tip:Â Take Time to Smell the Flowers!
In the midst of spring cleaning, spring decorating, spring gardening, and spring scheduling, be sure to get outside and enjoy the beauty of this season! Take time to smell the flower and while you’re at it pick a few to bring home. 🙂

Beth your home colors are my jam. I can’t get enough. The mantel and your living room are my favorite favorite. Love all the helpful tips you gave– I think the switching up wall decor for spring is something people forget about the most– but really makes a big difference! Where did you get your sea-glass strings of beads? I’m obsessed.
Thanks Rachel! They are Ghana glass beads. I found mine on etsy but you can also find them at One King’s Lane and some other home decor sites.
Your plates! They are so me 😉 Love your home and decor. So so pretty
