Last Spring, I entered a contest hosted by The Lean Remodeler and Wilsonart and I won! This room used to be a playroom and I wanted to convert it into a craft room. For a bunch of reasons that I won’t get into, it has taken a veeeeeeerrrrry long time to complete this project. It’s not finished yet, but the end is in sight. And in some ways….the beginning. Why is it that with each “finished project” another 10 leap up in it’s place?
Here is the overall layout of the room.
And here are all the things that will eventually be purchased to make this room functional and cute.
This closet is Asher’s nook for homeschool.
I also want to:
- Replace the pulls with something cuter.
- Buy a rug for the center of the room.
- Make a window seat cushion and pillows.
- Hang my crystal chandy.
Phew. So much to do, but I’m excited to get going! I’ll keep you updated. Don’t forget to enter the $50 gift certificate giveaway to Willow House if you haven’t already!

Wow! I am so excited to see your room progress. I've been saying for sooo long that I need a craft room but have not started yet because of so many other home projects. I like your craft room already because of the soon to be built window seat! I love window seats.

Very well thought out, Beth! I like it! I just noticed your Boo pillows in your blog header and I remember you did them last year. They really did turn out great. Feel like doing a repost of that one? : ) Or the Halloween Highlights of The Stories of A to Z?

Very cool! It looks like it's all coming together. I love the counter-height counters. Those are fabulous. I want some and have been looking for some hutch/thingy in Craigslist forever to use for my crafts.
I can't wait to see it all done – and I'm going to love the process with you. Keep us posted.
And, you homeschool? I didn't know that. I homeschooled my oldest for 2 years. It was great.

It looks like you have a lot to do, but isn't it exciting? I'd love to have room for a craft space in my home…I just lug my stuff to the dining table and then we have no place to eat!!
Good luck, Beth!
