I called Matt at work to share the latest cute-kid story, and bless-his-heart, he stopped by the grocery store on his way home from work and bought supplies for my Reptile Princess party. Asher was thrilled. On the morning of my birthday, they worked hard putting together my card and cake. Asher didn’t forget the animal costumes and insisted we make masks for the occasion. I had some ZooPals plates, so just made those into masks for us while Daddy worked on the cake.
Inside my card was the following dictated message from Asher. It’s so sweet to see what sort of things matter to a 4-year-old:
I like to play animal and dinosaur toys with you. And I like to do exercise with you, and I like to get muddy with you. I like to color with you. Mommy, I want to do something great for your birthday! Mommy, I really want to get birthday presents on our heads! (As a little game, we frequently balance objects on our heads and then pretend sneeze them off. I’ve been doing this with Asher since he was 2 and he still finds it hilarious.) Mommy, I think you’re really, really pretty! Happy Birthday!
In addition to my Reptile Princess party, I was able to have my girly-tea-party as well. I had Matt take me to lunch at a local tea parlor and had fun trying on all of their “grandma” hats. You can check out some of pictures from our lunch below.
It was a wonderful day, and I praise God for 34 years of a wonderful life!
