I wasn’t going to even post this because it seemed rather simple and silly. But simple and silly are my forte’, so I thought I’d post this idea for some of you looking for some last minute FREE decorating ideas! If you are lucky enough to have a Trader Joe’s near you, save the bags. On the front of the bag is this fabulous little bit of subway art, and on the side is this adorable snowman. I thought it was just too cute not to display!
So, I kept my basic sideboard vignette that I had for the fall and just switched up a few things. I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to my Wood Chip Wreath quite yet! I used my homemade “vintage” spools as the base for my makeshift Christmas trees and just love the pop of green they add.
The subway art is taped to the outside of a frame that I had in the basement.
I’m really loving the rustic simplicity of my decorations this year. Soooo different from my over-the-top decorating last year.
In case someone is wondering, my PB knock-off twig reindeer were found at a local shop and the vintage Christmas signs were clearance finds from a store I frequent called Gabriel Brothers.
So that’s it on Christmas decoration posts from me! Pinky swear :).
Let me know if you use this adorable subway art in your home and link to it in the comments! I’d love to see it! Also, I’m having a Christmas Porch Party going on right now. No worries if you don’t technically have a porch. Any outdoor decorations count as “porch” to me! I’m cool like that.

Thanks for the Trader Joe's tip, I will be going tomorrow for some free subway art. Love your blog, please keep inspiring us as always.
Oh so pretty! I love that you were able to re-purpose/recycle that great paper sack! I am with everyone else too – I love the table runner.
I miss Gabriel Brothers! I used to live in Ohio where we had several. But now I live in Western Colorado – smaller town so no Trader Joe's either. But I made a Christmas subway art piece today in photoshop.

Beth…I'm going to Trader Joes tomorrow! What a brilliant idea! I'm very new to the blogging world. I follow you, but this is the first time I've made a comment. May I display your creative idea on my Tuesday feature which is called "Supremely Cute Ideas on a Budget"?… I think it would be perfect! *L*
Thank You!! for posting the Trader Joes subway art! I'm going to head there tomorrow. I hope they have the cute bags at my store!
yes Beth , you really are cool like that 🙂 I am never disappointed in your posts -see how creative you are most of us would crumble the bag up and have it thrown away but you lovingly place it in a frame and it is art 🙂 I think you should send the CEO of the company the picture -I bet they would LOVE it !
Oh how I miss Trader Joe's! Super cute subway art.
We just got a Trader's Joe nearby this past week! I better make a special trip! Plus I hear it has great stuff!
I love it, Beth! I don't think it's silly at all ~ you found some free art AND you didn't have to print it out either! Love your signs and your natural looking Christmas decor is festive and soothing.
Very cute, Beth. I will definitely make it if I get to Trader Joe's!
XO,
Jane
Excellent–love stuff like this (alas no Traders Joe thingy around here.
Perfection! What a simple to way to infuse a little bit of the season in your home.
Cheers~

Simple! Yes but never silly!. I have looked at those bags so many times and thought how great they would be used for something and lo and behold you did it, Kudos to YOU!!! Merry Christmas,
KATHYSUE
I've never been to Trader Joe's but I might have to find one just to get a bag!
Never noticed that on their bags! I adore what you've done with it. Loving the exposed brick you have! We have some in our living room, too!
Your decorations are just so pretty! We have 1 Trader Joe's near us and I'm seriously contemplating going there tomorrow. Oh wait, one of my neighbor's lives there – tacky to ask her for one of her bags?! =)

I love Trader Joes, but too far, I don't get there very often. Love the bag and the simple decor, but I really love the runner on top, so simple and elegant! Have a great day! Laura
Thanks Kate! It's fabric that is waiting to be used in a chair recover project that I really need to get to! For now, it's filling in as the role of "table runner". 🙂
Hi Beth, those look so cute! Wish we had a Trader Joe's nearby. Is that a table runner on your sideboard table? Did you make it? It's very cute!
Hi Beth, I was just looking at my Trader Joe's bag and wondering why it said "Does using this bag as art count as recycling or reusing?" It is an earlier version–no Christmas decor on it–but I love what you have done with yours. The simple decor is refreshing. Maybe one of these days i'll try it too! Linda
