I would LOVE to do this on our laundry closet and this picture from House Beautiful has my wheels turning! Right now our laundry closet has those cheap bifold doors that pinch little fingers. I think this could be recreated with MDF molding on flatfront doors. I would also improvise on the hardware since I know it is incredibly pricey. Didn’t someone recently post about an improvised barn door track? Help me out if you remember the link.

Oh please figure this out and make a tutorial. I have been thinking about how much I love the look of barn doors and have a pantry that opens out into the hallway with hideous bi-fold doors, (that ugly faux wood laminate junk, they even have a couple small doors from a previous owner). I really wanted to figure out how to do this, in a moment of desperation I even considered just removing them, but I think my cluttery pantry is even more disgusting than the doors, oh please, please, please figure this one out.

I would love to see more barn doors. We are going to put one on our door to our bathroom from our bedroom. It is all open right now, which I don’t understand. Why would I want to lay in bed and listen to my husband brush his teeth? We can’t put a traditional door, so thought a barn door would work. Anyway of getting more readers to send pictures?

We bought our barn door hardware from the ace hardware outlet online. They were MUCH cheaper than all of the fancy versions. They only come in a steel finish so we primed and painted all of ours oil rubbed bronze. It has worked wonderfully.

I love this! I was just pondering all of the flat doors in my hallway and wondering if I could do something to them to make them less bleah. I haven’t quite figured it out yet, though, because the track won’t work in our hallway. Too many doors!!!
If you do find out where the improvised track is, though, definitely share! Our hall bathroom would be PERFECT with track doors!
