Traci, Cyndy (Traci’s sister), Melissa, Me, and Tracey (with her little pumpkin) |
This weekend the Relevant Conference (Christian version of Blissdom) is happening about 15 minutes from my home. Funds in my household are extremely tight right now, so I won’t be attending the conference this year. But that certainly wasn’t going to stop me from joining in on the fun!
A few weeks ago, I sent out a Twitter message inviting the Relevant peeps to join me for lunch. Several bloggers returned my tweet and this afternoon I carted several in my minivan to a nearby Chile’s for lunch. Debra from Bungalow who is also from PA drove separately and met up with us too! We had a wonderful time gabbing about blogging, raising kids, bed bugs, and swine flu. Don’t ask :)!
Jen from Balancing Beauty and Bedlam was supposed to join us for lunch, but she was so busy chatting with a friend in the Dulles airport that they missed their flight and had to wait 5 hours to catch the next one! Too funny! Don’t they look like such the bloggers with their metal stamped jewelry?
It was wonderful to finally meet my girl Traci! The fantastic thing about blog friends is that when you meet them in real life you DO already know them. It makes me all the more excited for Blissdom this year!
I wish I had more time with all of them, and wish I had a chance to have met up with Kimba who wasn’t arriving until late afternoon. But I was so grateful for the brief time I had with you ladies! It was a pleasure! Thanks for carving out some time to meet with me.
And on a side note, when I arrived home I found this!
My craft room window seat is coming along!
So how about you? Have you met any of your blog friends in real life yet? Were they the way you imagined they would be? Any of you planning on attending Blissdom this year? If so, I’ll see you there!

Looks like fun!! You and Traci are two of my very favorite bloggers so I think it is fantastic that you all got to meet. I am not surprised that the two of you hit it off! I love reading your blog. 🙂
You look so CUTE!:) I wish we didn't live so far away from each other. We would have a great time together.
I LOVE that you got to meet these women. So far, I've only met a few bloggers in real life, and they have all been amazing women. Just exactly how I knew they would be! That conference sounds wonderful- I didn't even know there was something for Christian women bloggers! Awesome. (But sadly, not in my budget or neighborhood either) Oh. Just wanted to share- I just ordered a family photo on canvas thanks to you sharing the link! I'm so hoping it turns out. I went with the 11×14 size in color. We'll see.
Blessings,
Sasha
I so wish I was at Relevant right now. Id have loved to meet these gals….you included! its only a few hours from my home but it just wasnt a possibility this year:(

What a beautiful group of ladies. It seems like such a treat to meet other bloggers. <3
Yep!
Met 'em last year at Blissdom, and here and there throughout the past year too. SUCH a trip!
Hoping to meet YOU in Nashville in January!!!!
Layla 🙂
Such a cool post, Beth! You're all so gorgeous!
Biz cards for bloggers?!? I gotta get with the program! 🙂
Donna
What fun, Beth! Glad you got to go over for a little fun with these girls.
Isn't it fun to meet bloggers in real life? It's amazing how we do know one another. One of my favorite things about blogging is that we get to know one another heart-to-heart even if not face-to-face. It's a great thing.
I got to meet Nester, Emily, Jen, Kimba, and several others at Nester's Swap Meet last year. Oh, glory, it was such fun. 🙂
It was such a treat having lunch with you, thanks for coming to meet us.
Great pictures! I LOVE your business cards! I am trying to find ones that I love before Blissdom!
Awww, great pics! Wish I was there too. You all look fabulous. Beth, you're so photogenic. And yes, I happen to have met some delightfully fun bloggers, you included! 🙂
That is so neat that you were able to meet all these wonderful ladies! I wasn't able to make it to Relevant… but I did sponsor someone to go. I'm sure she is going to have an *amazing* time! Maybe next time I can make it! 🙂
Beth…hey, you have on some pretty snazzy jewelry in that pic. Can you share what it is??? No kidding, I'm dying for that!! (waiting for your response…) Thanks!
When Fred and I were out at Merlefest we stumbled on a booth for Foundling. I glanced at it and then got all celebrity star struck when I realized it was a girl whose blog I'd been following for nearly a year. She makes BEAUTIFUL jewelry and if you haven't seen her stuff you really need to. Glass and metal, all of it handmade and she is an absolute delight in person. If you've never been to her site and stop in ( http://betsyoffoundling.blogspot.com/ ) , tell her Emily at http://family.monkeytroy.com/ sent ya!
It looks like you all had a ball, Beth {and all of you look fabulous in the pictures!}. I'm happy you got to squeeze in the luncheon in spite of missing the conference. I have met 2 bloggers so far and both have become good friends. You are so right, we do already know one another!
I'm so happy that your window seat is on the way to becoming…well, a window seat!! ;-D
XO,
Janie
We almost got to meet in NYC, still can't believe we missed each other !
oH how lovely you all look 🙂 It is so nice you got together and I'm sure there was a lot of laughter.
How lovely to meet people for real, it is true, you do already know each other! I have a gardening blog and have met lots of bloggers I knew online, but then we are mostly blogging for our own areas, so it's not rocket science to meet up!
What a lovely day you must have had 🙂
Those are some of the best bloggers!!! How fun to have lunch together. (on a sidenote….the kids brought home a weekly newspaper from their school- some national publication….guess what was all over the the front page with a huge picture? BED BUGS!!! I'm all itchy from helping them answer questions on the article – blech!)
Oh, man. What a good time! Glad you got to meet up with a great group of ladies! Counting down the days until January!
You all look fabulous! And I love the window seat!
How fun!
Your window seat will be so cool. I always wanted a window seat!
