Now let’s move to the colors used inside my home. The first level of my home is completely open. Like, not-a-wall-in-sightcompletely open. It’s one big bowling ally over here. I’ve used two complementary colors to add interest and distinguish spaces.
In the mudroom and family room I used Ramie.
Okay, let’s head upstairs to the second level. While we’re here, I’ll mention that I painted the risers white using Benjamin Moore oil-based white. I wanted a smooth finish so used oil based paint, but I so didn’t know what I was doing back then and they are far from perfect. The numbers are printed out on sticker paper and just stuck on. I would LOVE to paint the treads and railing black someday, but that would require us to not use our stairs for a few days.
Craft room.
Guest room-library-office.
The boys’ bathroom is done in Benjamin Moore’s Whipple Blue.
And now we’ll skip the ugly yellow hallway and closet (that are begging for a makeover) and cut straight to the bedroom.
Hey! This is such a beautiful home! I was wondering where you got the boys beds? I have two toddlers moving in together soon and we have been searching but these are just so cute! And the bed rails are so nice.
I love the bedding on your boys’ beds. Where can I find that?
Thanks! I found the yellow striped duvets at West Elm years ago but I don’t think they still carry them. Here is a similar one on Amazon if you’re interested: http://amzn.to/1JKslnW
Hi. I am commenting on the mud room picture. I have a little nook I want to do something like you have there. How deep is that shelf holding the little baskets above the coat hangers? Thanks!
Sorry…and how deep would you say that nook is?
Hi Joelle, it’s not very deep at all–about 10 inches. The shelf about is only around 5 or 6.
Awesome =) Thank you for responding so quickly.
Hi there!! I love your color choices and was wondering if you could tell me what color the boys room is? I see the colors for the rest of the house and may have just missed it!! Thanks so much!!
Thank you for sharing the paint colors – I’m ready to cover-up “builder white”. Any chance you are in So Cal and can help me decorate?
i love your home. its so cosy and stylish. The boys room is wonderful xx
Hey what is woven or attached to somehow the shelf above your washer/dryer. I have the same shelf and want it to look a little different? Fabric? ribbon?
I love your bed, I have the same one.
Love your home! I especially love the mudroom- I have those hooks, but have waited FOREVER to use mine. Maybe soon!

Yay!! Your paint colors are like GOLD!! Thanks so much for sharing! Your home is so amazing! One of my all time favs!!!
Here from Poppies at Play! You have a lovely home!
I especially noticed the shades on your buffet lamps… that rope adds such great texture. I might have to try it.
Your home is just gorgeous! I love the beautiful paint colors you used in all your rooms! I remember reading on a blog somewhere about a person who painted her stairs and she did every other stair, then went back to do the opposites so they could still use them while being painted.
You have a beautiful home. Love all your colors and the different textures. Thank you for sharing. 🙂
Just popping over from Poppies at Play. Love seeing your beautiful place without having to leave mine.
Thanks for the tour.
Fondly,
Glenda

ps. Beautiful colors.
Your home is gorgeous. Love the colors and I love that brick wall inside. What character and texture it brings to the room. The boys room has to be one of my faves!
Your home is gorgeous – so full of character and charm and wonderfully warm and inviting colors!!
Your home is JUST gorgeous!
I aspire to be there in my own home some day!
🙂
I loved this post for so many reasons! First of all, it is always fun to peek into someone else's home. And also, I am in the thick of it right now scheming out my bedroom makeover, and though I am going for a bit of a different style, it is always inspiring to see a finished project!
Thanks!
Mary

Thanks so much for sharing such great photos of your home. I love so many of your colors, and have gotten some great ideas, too. (I'm a fairly new follower, and I think the rain gutter top rail on your boys' wainscot is sheer genius!)
And here's one more silly little thing: I bought those same mirrors for the house we built a while back. (Just wish I had taken the mirrors when we had to sell the house!) Great minds, and all that. ;o)
SO fun to go on your house tour. you have a LOVELY home!!!

LOL :). The only time you'll find me in a boutique is if I'm trying to steal ideas! We are way too poor (and frugal) to buy anything from a boutique. Here is the mirror: http://www.walmart.com/ip/30-Round-Mirror-Merlot/11072966 It's not sold in stores but they will ship it for free to the store of your choice. Also, it says Merlot but it really looks black in person (which is good).
WALMART…what??? Oh Beth, I thought you were going to say a little boutique somewhere. Your home is so stylish and warm! Thanks for the inspiration in every single post!!
Thanks Susan! The rockers were bought on overstock.com about 7 yrs ago :). The mirror over my bed is from Walmart.
Beautiful home…your sons are so cute and their room is just darling!! I love it all!! Two questions:
1) Where are the rockers on the front porch from?
2) What about the mirror over your bed??
Thank you for a delightful blog, I'm always glad when you update!
Your home is not only beautiful, it looks comfortable and inviting. Nothing stuffy here. The calming colors work together beautifully.
The colors are beautiful, but my very favorite things are the vanities in your bathrooms. Gorgeous!
Thanks so much for sharing. You home is wonderful and your colors make me want to repaint my whole house 😉
Your home is so beautiful! Thanks for sharing the colors you used. I love SW Sea Salt. I've had a swatch taped up in the laundry room for a year now, and can't decide if I want to paint the walls or the cabs with it.
If you don't want the stairs to be out of comission for several days, you can paint every other one. It'll take somebody carrying the really young ones, but my older son has been able to take steps 2 at a time since we was 8 or 9, and he was very small for his age.
Once the first set has been primed, painted, and fully cured, place blue tape on them so the fam knows that these are the dry ready steps, and prime and paint the ones you left bare the first go around.
So much fun to see your house in one post…particularly love the little mud room!! Your home feels very warm and inviting, enjoy it! Janell
Love your color choices…..the brick walled dining room is fabulous..the boys room, the laundry room is even a room to behold! I am impressed, you have created a beautiful home and your color choices were spot on!
Yay! You posted the colors! I've been waiting and I must go pick up some samples. Imitation is the highest form of flattery, right?
Beth, I love your colors. I have also used Benjamin Moore's Rosemary Sprig. I searched so many fan decks for the perfect sage green and Benjamin Moore has it! Not minty at all.
Just had to say…your home is so beautiful. So inviting and warm. I love all of the paint colors.
Beth, I am so happy you did this as I now know where to come when we begin giving the paint selections to the painters! I was wanting to go with a neutral, soft, blues, etc but have never gone in that direction. Just admired them. Now I don't have to wonder anymore!
Gorgeous colors! Love them all in one spot! 🙂 Such a beautiful home…
I love the colors in your house!
I just put up pics of my mantle and Spring stuff, so I'll be ready to link to your party on the 7th!
You have a beautiful home, Beth. I love the colors in every room. I've enjoyed the home tour too! Makes me wish this old farmhouse was done. Looking forward to the mantel party!
Happy Spring!

OMG! I did a double take because your bathroom looks exactly like mine. I don't have the shower but the bath tub, tile, faucet on the half wall with the toilet behind it. I am so excited because with the color tile I couldn't figure any other colors to put in my bathroom. I don't plan on changing the walls but that would be great as an accent. Thanks for sharing.
You have such a lovely home, thanks for letting us in. I love all your colors. We have used Benjamin Moore for so long, I just love their paints.
Oh, I just love your home! It is oozing with charm and character. I will definitely use one of your colors the next time I paint a room. I wanted you to see my little mudroom makeover I just did . . . it only cost me $40! I was inspired by your little mudroom makeover. 🙂 I just posted it today.
So, so very pretty and I absolutely love how the colors all work well together and f-l-o-w. Easier said than done!
Love all the colors in your home. Your home is stunning I love every detail!! Martina
Love all the colors. Although I have seen most of them one at a time this it the first time I have seen them all together. Pretty.
Pretty, pretty house – thanks for sharing!
Anne
I love Ramie! I have that color in my bathrooms and laundry room so far!
Hey Laura, the duvet cover was a major splurge of mine. It's from Anthropologie and I absolutely love it!
Those are all great colors and they flow so well together, thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for sharing your paint colors Beth!! I'm trying to be brave and pick some new ones as we make this old bungalow ours!
Love the colors of your home. Thanks for sharing your home with us.
Love your colors, Beth! They are soft, toned and perfect for each room. I wish I kept better track of my paint colors. (BTW – In Your Eyes is hands down my favorite song. I always think of John Cusack holding a boombox when I hear it.)
Very cool! I loved this paint color tour.
I totally want to move into your home. It's amazing! It made me realize, even though I'm a renter, there's so much I can do personalize my space. I've just got to do it!
You have an amazing house! I would covet it less if you could show me just one room that wasn't awesome. 🙂 Thanks for the fun paint tour!
Great colors, Beth! Thanks for sharing the names; I like to try and keep track of paint colors I like, either for me or for clients when they ask. I have a similar green in my master bathroom and I still love it.
I adore the colors in your house. They are the perfect mix of interesting but not at all overwhelming. Your house just seems like a place a girl could come and sit and enjoy and nice breezy day with some iced tea. It's just exactly what a home should be: inviting and relaxing. You've done a really amazing job.
I'm also crazy about your gathered white duvet cover (or comforter?). Did you make it yourself?
