Thank you for sharing. My community here in Alabama was devastated and I have 2 stepchildren attend the University of Alabama and the mile that separated them when it went thru is the path it destroyed. Between that and my brothers family living in Ringgold, Ga, it has been so overwhelming this week. They are so traumatized. Thank you so much for everything you are posting regarding this tragic week. I have always loved your blog, but this makes me love that much more, because we see how truly kind and compassionate you are for the less fortunate!
Blessings

I am so devastated for my college town. You can see (what's left of) my husband's old rental house in that video, and it just really makes all of it hit home even though I'm 1000 miles away.
So devastating. Alabama has been on my mind.
It's so heartbreaking Beth. Would love to help in any way I can.
Thank you so much for posting this, Beth! It's devastating right now around here. I would love to assemble a group of home and DIY / Craft bloggers to help out with donations. I have a listing of places people can donate here: http://unskinnyboppy.blogspot.com/2011/04/please-pray-for-alabama.html
God Bless you Beth. It is so like you to do such a sweet thing. My prayers are with those affected.
If you know of something I can do to help, please let me know.
So kind that you took the time to reach out with your blog! My husband, daughter and I live on the ridge that overlooks Birmingham, seeing the video of the mile and a half wide tornado crossing behind the skyline still shakes me. I feel beyond fortunate that although mere miles away there is complete devastation my family and my home were unscathed. So many horrific stories, much suffering, grieving, and a long road of rebuilding ahead…but droves of wonderful stories of survival, of healing, and of hope. I have seen dozens of clothing and daily necessity drives around town and via facebook today and countless volunteer opportunities with rapid fulfillment. The outpouring of support is fascinating. One way of giving, no matter your location, is donating blood! Thanks again for your kindness.
Amen, girl. Amen!
I was so sad this a.m when I turned on the news to hear how it was going down there and all that was on was the royal wedding crap. That is not news.
Breaks my heart.

Beth!
One of my friends at work has a nephew in Tuscaloosa…The guys in his house all took their matresses into the basement and survived.
The girls next door to them did not survive. Everything above the basement level was gone! The National Guard is protectng the
citizens and the shattered lives and belongings…May God Bless
his children in Alabama!

So glad you posted about this Beth. I have been watching the news here in Australia and can't believe what I'm seeing. Praying that God will bring hope and peace amidst such devastation.

Thank you Beth for your prayers. We are all still in shock here and just trying to take it all in. One of the beauticians at the beauty shop I was at this afternoon lost 3 members of her family, one a child! Our governor believes the death toll will climb as they search for missing people in Tuscaloosa. Fortunately we here in Montgomery were spared. My son in B'ham was fortunate as well. This has been a life-changing storm for many.

Amen! I have been thinking about AL and MS all day. The path the tornado took is huge! I'm praying for everyone there.
I have a prayer list and have added pretty much the entire South to it. So tragic. Thanks for the post.
I have thought about Alabama all day long! My heart goes out to you all! I will keep you in my prayers.
My heart and prayers go out to these families affected by the storms. The pictures of devastation are heart wrenching. Thanks for this post…sending many prayers to the people of the South.
XO,
Jane
My sister and her family live in Birmingham. They are okay. Thank you God. Thanks for the nice words here Beth.
I really appreciate your post about the tragic storms here in Alabama. My family is safe but my college town (Tuscaloosa) was hit hard and is in complete devastation. Friends have been sending pictures and it is just heartbreaking. Please keep praying for all the people who have lost loved ones and their homes.
What a wonderful way to offer help. I think we all know many blog friends living in Alabama. I just couldn't believe the destruction that was displayed in the video. My prayers are with all those who have been affected or who have loved ones who've been affected.
