Tutorials & Tips Tuesday {6} {Tip: Easy Peanut Butter Cup Recipe}

How to Make an Emergency Reese’s Cup

Hi, my name is Beth and I’m a Chocoholic.  I’ve been happily addicted since the age of three and can remember stealing Baker’s Chocolate from my mom’s cupboard around that age in a failed attempt to get my fix.  Today’s tip is for all my fellow chocoholics out there!  When scarfing down a handful of chocolate chips just won’t do but you’re feeling desperate, try this tip!

Step 1:  Grab your peanut butter, chocolate chips, and a muffin cup.  Make sure your peanut butter is “all natural” so you can console yourself that you’re really eating a “healthy” snack here.

Step 2:  Fill that muffin cup full of chocolate chips.

Step 3:   Microwave for 30 second intervals stirring after each interval.  (Picture below is after two 30 second intervals.) A full muffin cup will take about 1-1 1/2 mins.  Be sure to stir every 30 seconds.  Chocolate burns easily.

Step 4:  Place a blob of peanut butter into the center of your melted chips.

Step 5:  Smooth chocolate from sides over the blob of p.b.

Step 6: Place in freezer for 5 minutes.  (10 if you’re feeling really patient.)

Step 7:  Remove from freezer and peel off the cupcake liner.

Step 8:  Nom nom nom!

  3. My name is La and I am a chocoholic, too. Don't bother to call Dr. Drew because I am not ready to give up my addiction.

Patience…hmmm…not my strong suit. I usually mix the melted chips and PB and eat it melted. :o ) I will try this method next time I need a fix…which may be as soon as get home from work.

    Have a great day, Beth!

Those peanut butter cups look dangerous. What a great, easy activity to do with the kids too. We like instant gratification around here. These look like they'd take less time than baking cookies. Maybe we could melt a whole bowl full of chocolate, then pout it into the muffin liners to make several at a time…hmmm
Anyway, thanks for hosting. I guess we were on the same chocolate wave length this week because I linked up an easy way to make your own chocolate pudding:)

  32. Jensamom23 says:

Is it wrong to make this for my breakfast this morning….and then hide the evidence? Just askin'.

  33. I made these. Mine didn't turn out nearly as pretty as yours. Maybe because I'm using cheap, dollar store liners? Nonetheless, my hubby at 5 of them. So, I guess that's a win, huh? Thanks for the idea.

  34. Kim @ Savvy Southern Style says:

Beth, I just tried this recipe and can I just say sinfully delicious!! Thanks a lot. Is the mantel party going up tonight or tomorrow?
