I made a Goodwill and Target run this weekend and found some fantastically cheap items. Pictured below is a handmade candy dispenser. It had so much potential that I almost squealed when I saw it on the shelf! Living in PA near so many skilled craftspeople seriously has its Goodwill advantages.
How do you like me now? Yes, yes…she would look so much cuter with some red, white, and pink M&M’s in that jar, but I have absolutely no self-control around M&M’s and neither do my children. None of us like Smarties, so I’ll keep them in there until I’m ready to use this baby. Don’t you worry…she’ll get used!
Here is a picture of some of my other finds. The little lined basket from Target was neutral, so I painted it white. I also wanted to dress up the mailbox a bit.
Here they are after.
I used some scrapbook paper tags to decorate the candles.
These little measuring cups were a find from Goodwill and I just LOVE them!
Lastly, I found this silver basket that had these ugly purple doo-dads around it.
I just lost the bow and cut off the doo-dads and it is now a cute holder for my half-bath toilet paper.
Not much to show you today, but sometimes it’s the small changes that make me the happiest!

We had a candy dispenser just like that growing up…I think it was something my dad made in boy scouts or wood shop or something…anyways, I always loved it. I like how you spiffed some things up for V's day, very creative and cute!
On a side note, I went out this morning and decided to put on "full makeup"…including eye-liner to make my eyes pop…anyways, I thought of you and your make up blog post! It did feel good to look extra pretty when I left the house.
Blessings, Grace

I'm always amazed at the great things some of you ladies find at "charity" shops and the marvellous things you create with them.
The candle & the basket are my faves.

What great items you found. I love the transformation on the basket for the t.p. I wonder if I could trust my guys not to teepee something while they're in the bathroom. Probably not, but I think I'll have to chance it!

Me, too! Isn't that funny how an inexpensive, small thing can just make your day? I hit Goodwill this morning and found something that did the same for me {post coming later this week}. I love the candy dispenser painted white. I got some Valentine candy corn at Tuesday Morning and put it in a jar I made; I can't stop eating them!
