I love giving and receiving gift baskets! They are fun to create and a joy to receive. Today, I’m sharing how to create three affordable and fun gift baskets for the holidays using items purchased exclusively at Christmas Tree Shops. If you’re not familiar with Christmas Tree Shops, they are a fantastic “one stop shop” for affordable and unique Christmas gifts and this year they have their largest assortment yet! I know a lot of stores make this claim this time of year, but CTS truly delivers! From food and beauty items, to Christmas pajamas, to holiday home decor, to pet gifts, CTS has something for everyone on your list.
When creating gift baskets, I always try to create a collection of items that collectively provide a special moment or memory! My themes for today’s gift baskets include: All Things Cozy, Cocktails & Charcuterie, and Christmas Cookies & Cocoa. To see how I create each basket, step by step, be sure to watch my short videos.
Holiday Gift Basket Idea 1: All Things Cozy Gift Basket
A gift basket filled with cozy gift items is perfect for almost everyone on your list and can easily be customized and personalized to suit a variety of tastes! This is one of my favorite gift baskets to give to introverts, home lovers, and homebodies. Anyone on your list who loves to cuddle up in pajamas for a night in will appreciate this gift! Here are some examples of items to include in an All Things Cozy gift basket. Pick and choose the items that best fit your budget and gift recipient.
- Throw Blanket
- Pajamas / Robe / Loungewear
- Slippers
- Toss Pillow
- Welcome Doormat
- Mug
- Candle
- Hat / Scarf / Mittens
- Cocoa / Tea / Coffee / Treats
- Books / Board Games
Everything in my basket, including the basket, was purchased at Christmas Tree Shops for under $100. I included a holiday throw blanket, holiday doormat, slippers, christmas pajamas (with socks!), scented candle, and of course some chocolate! The battery operated twinkle lights add a fun and festive touch and give the basket some extra holiday cheer.
Here is a closer look at the holiday doormat! You will typically find a wide selection of everyday and seasonal doormats at the entrance of the store.
Holiday Gift Basket Idea 2: Tropical Lovers Cocktails & Charcuterie Gift Basket
I found this adorable seagrass summer tote on sale at Christmas Tree Shops and knew it would create the perfect vessel for my Tropical Lovers Cocktails & Charcuterie gift basket idea! This gift doubles as a perfect date night basket. Potential items to incorporate into this basket include:
- Martini Glasses
- Cocktail Shaker
- Drink Mixers
- Charcuterie Supplies
- Cutting Board
- Serving Tray
- Coasters
- Cocktail Napkins & Plates
- Bar Towels
- Alcohol
- Citrus or Fresh Garnish Supplies
- Barware
To keep my costs within budget, I opted to include glass “ornamentini” ornaments filled with the necessary spirits. The recipes on the Aloha Holiday Cocktail Mixers I included in my basket call for shots of rum and tequila. Providing the alcohol inside a glass ornament is not only adorable, but also allows my gift recipient to have all of the supplies necessary for a fun Charcuterie & Cocktails evening with a loved one!
I know they are going to adore these reindeer martini glasses as much as I do!
Pro Tip: Use baker’s twine or ribbon to secure and embellish gift basket items.
This basket would also be a FANTASTIC prelude gift to announce an upcoming winter tropical vacation!
Holiday Gift Basket Idea 3: Christmas Cookies & Cocoa
This versatile gift supplies almost everything needed for an evening of baking Christmas cookies and sipping hot chocolate! This gift idea is wonderful for a friend with small children, grandparent, or couple needing a fun date night at home. Here are some items to consider for your Christmas Cookies & Cocoa gift basket:
- Mixing Bowls
- Christmas Mugs
- Wooden Spoon
- Rolling Pin
- Oven Mit
- Baking Mixes
- Sprinkles
- Frosting
- Hot Chocolate / Marshmallows
- Cocoa Bombs
- Kitchen Towels
- Cookie Cutters
- Rubber Scraper
- Cookie Jar / Cookie Tins
- Measuring Cups
- Apron
- Whisks
The blue Santa Cookie Jar in the center of the basket provided the inspiration for this entire basket idea! He was so cute, and I knew would create the perfect focal point for the basket. Around him I included sugar cookie mixes, whisks, oven mitts, frosting, sprinkles and cookie cutters. I tied all of the cookie cutters with baker’s twine to create a cute embellishment. For the hot chocolate supplies, I included a few types of cocoa, hot cocoa bombs, and Santa mugs. The set of holiday kitchen towels tied my color scheme together perfectly!
