It’s a lot of fun to reflect on all the personal DIY goodness accomplished in 2011! Throughout the course of this year, our entire main level received a makeover for the better.
Let me start at the entrance and work my way through the open floor plan with you. Our stenciled foyer and…
…our mudroom set the tone nicely for the rest of the house.
Fresh paint for the walls (in Sherwin William’s Ramie and Sea Salt) and board and batten to the level’s entire perimeter made a HUGE difference to the look and feel of the place!
The dining room had been made over in 2010 but still managed to receive some new curtains, faux blinds, rope covered side lamps, and a few new accessories.
I updated our breakfast nook with some no sew curtain panels…
…and the living room received a new rug, faux roman shades, white slipcovers, and diy pillows.
In May, we finally finished our garden stone backsplash in the kitchen. Phew, that project was messy and a pain to complete!
I also painted the kitchen stools white and created some upholstered foam board chair backs.
In order to match the rest of the house, the kids’ Ikea chairs and table needed a tiny makeover too!
But the main level wasn’t the only place in the home to receive attention in 2011. I redecorated my master bedroom…
…and then redecorated the bedroom again with a diy barn door headboard and ballard inspired stenciled curtains.
The craft room was completed in 2011 with a vintage chandelier, accessories, no sew cushions for the window seat and fabric-covered cork boards for the desk area. I LOVE having this work space to create in!
And of course I enjoyed decorating a few mantels in 2011!
Speaking of decorating, one of the highlights of my year was hosting an amazing“How to Decorate Series” featuring thoughtful and educational posts from some of my favorite bloggers. (If you haven’t checked this series out, I highly recommend you click on the link and peruse the posts. They are all worth reading!)
Wow, 2011 was a fun year eh? Thank you so much for visiting me, following along on my projects, linking up to my blog parties, and allowing me to feature you. I am really excited to see what 2012 holds for all of us!
