Here in Central Pennsylvania, the days are beginning to get shorter, crisper, and clearer. Fall is definitely in the air and mums and pumpkins have made their way into every grocery store and market. I love this time of year, and I’m so glad you are here to see my fall home tour! Today I am honored to be joining the Finding Fall Home Tour hosted by Laura from Finding Home Farms and Better Homes & Gardens. You can begin your tour at BHG and visit all of the homes on the tour.
If you are joining me from Four Generations One Roof, welcome!
Our family of four lives in a modest 2500 square foot city row-home that we completely gutted and renovated 8 years ago. Our home is tall and skinny with an open concept floor plan on the main level. When you enter our home, you are immediately attacked greeted by our two Pomeranians. This is Eowyn and she has decided that the sheepskin rug is her new dog bed! Don’t try to convince her otherwise. She and Pippin have also collectively decided that munching on cotton branches is a super fun past-time when no one is looking. Gah! They are so lucky they are cute. 😉
Fall Mudroom
This small but mighty space is a joy to decorate for the holidays. Who wants actual mud in their mudroom when you can have buckets of pine cones and garlands of cotton instead? In all seriousness, this space only gets to look like this a few times a year, and I enjoy every minute of it! This year, I switched things up by moving some furniture around to make more room for coat-and-boot season. I’ll have a tutorial for the bench soon and a giveaway tomorrow from Kirkland’s–which is where those cute window panes are from. Consider subscribing to my weekly newsletter so you don’t miss out on upcoming posts! [wysija_form id=”1″]
I love decorating with neutrals and natural elements for fall, don’t you? All of the various textures play so nicely together and are so warm and inviting! Pass a cup of hot chocolate because I’m ready for bonfires and football games.
Baby boo pumpkins are my fall decorating must-have. Unfortunately, I could not find them anywhere! All I could locate were Jack-Be-Littles which are orange. So what’s a Baby Boo loving girl to do? Paint the orange ones white of course! I painted nearly all of the real pumpkins you see in this post.
The Chipmunk Pillow is just the cutest. It makes me smile every time I walk in the door. I found him on Amazon (affiliate link) at Society6. The boys have named him Chubs and he’s kind of become our fall mascot!
Next to the dining room and doorway is the bar cart. You can walk through the door and grab a drink immediately if you’ve had a rough day! I made a cute free autumn printable for above my bar cart with a quippy quote. Click on the link and download yourself a copy if you’d like!
A garland of acorns, white pumpkins, and a bouquet of limelight hydrangeas & roses is the perfect compliment to a fall cocktail.
Fall Dining Room
Our dining room has an expansive wall of 100-yr-old brick which adds a lot of charm and character to the space. I kept things classic and simple in here this year with just some hydrangeas from the yard displayed individually in bud vases. When my office is a mess, I will often sit at this table to work. It’s a soothing space which gets a lot of natural light.
Fall Family Room
The colors on my main level are done in creams, grays, and blues. I wasn’t interested in completely changing, or trying to fight my existing color scheme this year–so I just surrendered to it. So freeing! (Last year, I switched out all of my curtains, pillows, and even a few rugs. It just was not happening this year!) I ordered these adorable watercolor toss pillow covers designed by Lucy of Craftberry Bush and love how well they complement my home.
Blue Cinderella pumpkins are so gorgeous! I could only find sickly peach-colored ones this early in the season, so I painted and glazed them to my liking.
Fall Mantel
My summer mantel was so pretty and I just wasn’t quite ready to pack away all of my blue bottles. I wanted to create an early fall look that I can change in another month or so when I tire of it.
I found a great inspiration picture (which I later found out belongs to Craftberry Bush-dang that girl is good!) and created a pretty fall mantelscape with succulents, driftwood, and baby boos.
I found that little chair at a thrift store years ago. It used to have a scary-looking teddy bear glued to the seat. I’d say it looks much better with a little pumpkin!
The Kitchen
Heading into the kitchen you pass my favorite wall in the house! You can see more on how I created the custom herringbone doors here and how I created my inexpensive engineer prints here. This wall is bold, but it’s so personal and meaningful to me which is what your house should be. I just love it!
The kitchen received a fun new DIY Coffee & Tea sign this week–sign tutorial coming soon! This is my favorite room in the house probably because it is the most tidy and clean! I can’t guarantee that the rest of the house won’t be a mess when you come to visit, but the kitchen is usually in good shape. I recently shared with you my secrets on how I keep it so clean if you’re interested.
Thank you so much for stopping by to see my fall home tour! I hope you enjoyed it and maybe picked up some inspiration for your own non-traditional fall decorating.
Do you follow me on Instagram? You can find me @homestoriesatoz. I will be showing many more pictures from my fall tour exclusively on IG and would love to have follow along! I will also be featuring some fall inspiration from others. You can share pictures of your fall decorating on Instagram and use the hashtags: #BHGCelebrate for a chance to be featured on BHG’s Instagram and #findingfallhometour for a chance to be featured by me or one of the other bloggers participating in the fall tour.
Your next stop on the tour will be at the gorgeous home of Courtney from the French Country Cottage! Enjoy!

Beautiful home tour. I loved it all, especially your kitchen. When you’re feeling cramped in your 2500 square feet home, think about my family of four, plus a dog and two cats living in our 950 square feet house/cottage. I’m not complaining, just say in’. 😉
lexi @glitterinc.com says
This is all absolutely beautiful!
Rebekah says

Beth says
Hi Ter’e! Nice to e-meet you. 🙂 Congrats on your upcoming move to MO. Moving is so stressful but can be exciting change. You were right about the source for the wine rack–it’s Pottery Barn. It was a b-day gift to myself last year so just tell your hubs that you are gifting it to yourself. 😉 The chandelier was found on Joss & Main and I love it too! Thanks so much for visiting my home tour!

Thanks! It’s actually from Kirkland’s but I don’t see it currently listed online.
kimberly oyler says
hey beth! seriously such a cute little home tour! where is the cream bag from thats hanging in your mudroom?
Beth says
Thank you Kimberly! The bag was a gift to me from the Kirkland’s PR team so I assume it is from Kirkland’s. However, I do not see it currently listed online.
Vanessa says
Beth everything is STUNNING!!! I had to keep scrolling up and down just to soak it all in. The details are perfect and I wanted to pick a favorite part but just couldn’t. Love it ALL!
Beth says
You are too kind Vanessa. 🙂 Thanks girl for taking the time to stop by and leave a comment!
Becky Horst says
Beth, please share where you got your cotton. I’m a local reader and I’d love to get my hands on some. My girlfriend who lives in South Carolina recently posted a pic of her cotton bouquet and I thought it was hopeless for me to get any. And your home looks lovely!
Beth says
I can sometimes find it this time of year at local farmer’s markets but this actually came from Michaels craft store! Not hopeless for you at all. Head to Michaels and don’t forget to bring your 40% coupon in case they aren’t still marked down.
Jessica @ Four Generations One Roof says

Jenny says
It looks so pretty! You’ve really brightened and lightened up our home over the years!
Beth says
Thanks Jenny! And yes, it has definitely changed since I started blogging!
Lori says
Really enjoyed my stop here – the fall tour was fantastic. Admire that you kept with a neutral theme which coordinated with your existing décor. I’m a fan of the more traditional bold rich colours of fall but I’m being tempted to change that every time I see someone who does it so wonderfully in a more subtle manner.
Beth says
Thanks Lori! I’m so glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for visiting all the homes. 🙂
Mindy says
I love a gal who is not afraid to paint a pumpkin : ) Such wonderful spaces you have created here. Thanks for the tour!
Beth says
Thank you Mindy!

So so so gorgeous Beth and the photo of Eowyn is adorable
Beth says
Ha! She is a stinker. Thank you for stopping by Julia!
Carol@TheRedPaintedCottage says
OMG, your house is beautifully decorated for autumn, my favorite season! I have to laugh about the modest 2500 sq. ft. because we just downsized to a 1500 sq. ft. condo. My mind has to constantly come up with new and inventive ways to decorate without making it look cluttered. I love your colors and house!
Beth says
Congrats on the new home! And yes, 2500 sq feet is certainly not the most modest-sized home but it feels so much smaller than that since it is a row home and everything is stretched out into multiple levels. I often wish I could borrow space from upstairs and place it on the first floor. 🙂
laura@duke manor farm says
beth, your home home is lovely. glad you worked with what you had instead of changing it all up cause it all works.
Beth says
Thank you Laura!
Kim @ Sand & Sisal says
So soft and serene Beth! I love the color combination (of course!) 😉
carol says
Oops. Sorry. Wrong home about your kitchen. Sorry. That was the tour I was reading before yours. Hehe.
Beth says
Ha! No worries! I’m excited to see Jess’s completed kitchen too. She’s been showing sneak peeks on her personal FB page all summer long and I’m ready for the big reveal.
carol says
I love your home and the blue us so pretty. Lucky you redoing your kitchen. Want to redo mine so badly. Where did you get your cream sectional? Is it leather? Love it!!!
Beth says
Thanks Carol! The sectional is leather and it’s the Collins Sectional by LaZBoy. I LOVE it. With two little boys and two little naughty dogs I love that I can easily clean it.
