I know all of you love interior design and decorating as much as I do! So I’m wondering if you have ventured into the world of virtual design yet? If not, you are missing out and today is the day to try it. If so, then you are going to love today’s post! I was recently introduced to Neybers which is a brand new (still in Beta) app that allows you to create room designs using real products and share them with your online community. Neybers is similar to other virtual room creator sites, but it also has some unique features. The learning curve to using Neybers is fantastic! I jumped right in and began designing a room with no tutorial or instructions. It’s very user-friendly and easy to use. Below is the first room I designed on Neybers. Pretty cute, eh? I would love to sip my morning coffee at that table! And do you see that cute chair by the round picture window? I think I need one in my life.
Why not try Neybers for yourself? I’ll show you in some screenshots how it works. To get started, you will need a Neybers account. I signed in using Facebook to make it easy.
Next, you click on “+Design a room” and choose your room template. (Don’t worry if you don’t like the flooring, wall color, or even window placement because Neybers allows you to change all of it. I LOVE this feature!)
Once you have your room selected it’s time to play and let your creativity be your guide! Click on the walls to change the wallpaper and click on the floor to add a different flooring option. You can even change the molding in the room!
Once you are ready to add objects to your room, click on “Shop” and choose from the different categories to add in-real-life products. I found it easiest to search for a keyword for items I was looking for.
Tip: This app comes to us from Amagumo Games based in Stockholm, Sweden so if you are from the States there are some search terms and category name changes to be aware of. For example, rugs are under “carpets” and toss pillows are under “cushions”. Nothing too dramatic that you won’t catch onto, but if you search for a product and it doesn’t come up you may need to alter your search term.
Click play below to see how easy it is to add items to your room. Notice how the designer “turns on” the floor lamp? Neybers allows you to even add lighting and texture effects to your design! So cool!
Once you are pleased with your design, hit the camera icon and crop the picture. You can then add a title to your design and publish it and share on social media. Your design will be added to the Neybers newsfeed where others can like and comment on your design.
As you publish designs, more features on Neybers will be made available to you. You will also earn badges and stars which add to the fun factor of the app.
I created a few more room designs today on Neybers and wanted to share them with you. Below is a cottage bathroom. Oh how I would love to have that tub for our master bath, and while I’m dreaming, I will take the herringbone wood floor as well!
But I think my latest design is my favorite of the three. Hmmmmmm, where can I put up some bold graphic wallpaper with gold blingy accessories in my home? Maybe in my craft room. It’s ready for a makeover. Sigh. I love this room and wish I could kick off those gorgeous heels, flop down on that leather sofa, and enjoy a glass of red wine…and maybe even pet that gold pig while I’m there. Why not? 🙂
So, won’t you be my Neyber? Ha, I couldn’t resist :). You can follow me at Beth Crabtree Hunter if you’d like to see my future room creations, and I’d love to follow you back! Stay tuned for an iPad and iPhone Neybers app coming soon. For now you can access Neybers from your phone and iPad at www.neybers.com. I hope to see you there!
I’ll leave you with a quote from Michael Cruseman who is the one who introduced me to Neybers.
Disclosure: This post is brought to you by Neybers. I loved the app and thought you might too! I only take on sponsored posts that I think are going to be beneficial to my readers. I’m pretty opinionated and like to think for myself, so you can count on all thoughts and opinions being my own!
