Edit: The color I recommended she use on her walls is Benjamin Moore’s Rosemary Sprig. It’s my fail-safe-green. I used it in my last house in the family room and in this home it’s currently in my master bath. I’ve also used it in some homes I’ve done in our neighborhood. (I’ll also add that at first my dear friend ignored my color recommendation and ventured for some Sherwin Williams green that she ended up hating. Trust me friends, if you want a fail-safe use Rosemary Sprig!)
Last week, I did a post on my favorite color combinations of green and black. I was consulting with a friend on making her front room a bit more sassy and functional using this color palette. I thought you might enjoy seeing the finished project of her revamped room.
Before: It had a bit of a doctor’s-office-waiting-room feel. After: It looks like a cozy place to curl up and sip some tea!

Before: Piano and pictures. Not sure what else to say about it. After: Except for the fact that my beloved chair didn’t make the cut :(, it looks functional and fabulous. Adult-friendly-play-room if I ever did see one! My friend already had the bookcase sitting in a hallway and simply gave it a fresh coat of black paint to update the look and repurposed it in this room.
Before: Long expanse of a wall. After: Cute little seating area for two (that she moved from her kiddos’ bedroom). Notice the cute pottery barn like wreath on the window? You can see how to make one for yourself here.
My friend, you done good! I love it and I hope it will inspire other’s to grab their own decorating project by the horns…or paint can. Thanks for letting me play a small part in your vision. It was fun!

It was a really cute chair – a moment of silence indeed!
Michaela, yes it was the beloved black and white damask chair. I'm not sure where that one came from but alas and alack…it is gone. Moment of silence please.
Was the black and white chair the beloved chair that didn't make the cut?? I really like that chair – where was that from??? I told you about the design on a dime class I am taking and I am totally doing these colors in my bedroom. I showed my friend your blog – told her I wanted to use color/theme in my bedroom – she LOVED your blog. Will let you know how the transformation of my batcave of a bedroom turns out!
Fabulous! What is the paint color? It looks right up my alley. I'm always looking for my next inspiration, and I may have just found it. Give me a bit, and you'll get to see which room it shows up in at my place! 🙂
