You’ve packed away all of Christmas and now your home looks incredibly stark and barren. While the lack of clutter is refreshing it feels strangely undecorated. What do you do now? Do you decorate for winter? Do you just put your everyday decor back up on the mantel? Well here is a quick tip for you on how to decorate your mantel after Christmas!
Below is a picture of my most recent Christmas mantel. I purchased 23.5 inch Paper Mache Letters to create my “NOEL” sign above my mantel. I set each letter on top of wrapping paper (backwards), traced, cut, and glued the wrapping paper to the letters and hung using 3M adhesive strips.
And here is my winter mantel! I simply ordered a letter “V” and changed my “Noel” to “Love” for Valentine’s Day. So simple and I love that I get more use out of my letters!

just found your blog and spent half an hour just browsing{instead of cleaning} !!! love your ideas! going to see if I can find the letters by me. they are adorable…. and I don’t even have a mantel. I will find some place for them.
Love your mantel. Mine is very boring right now since the Christmas stuff is away and I haven’t decided what to do for now…

Love the pop of color from the lemons. And the tea pots are adorable. Thanks for posting
Thank you Lynn!
So pretty!
I love the simple change, so clever to use what you have and a design that just works. I most often transition into a winter mantle after Christmas. I like how your new version feels like a white, wintery Valentine.
Changing the letters to ‘Love” is genius. Love your mantel decor.
I missed seeing your Christmas mantel and am so glad you posted it to get the full impact of your transition to Valentine’s. Great use out of the NOEL letters – never would have thought of it! Fun to see your other Valentine mantels too. Pinning!
LOVE your mantel! My mantel is not as tall as yours so I will need to find shorter letters. Also love the driftwood with lights. Is that store bought or hand made?
