One Project Closer (OPC) hosts an annual before and after party with a mission. Here is how it works, OPC hosts one link party on their blog which runs for several months. Each week a new winner is chosen from that same link party. Pretty good odds, eh? Winners receive a $50 gift card to a home improvement store and OPC makes an $100 donation to Habitat for Humanity. Win/win all the way around! OPC asked me to be a guest judge and choose this week’s winner. With 149 fantastic entries (and counting) this was NOT an easy task. Are you ready to see who I chose? Drum roll…………………………………………………….
Congrats to Mandy at House of Rose for your gorgeous Modern Fireplace Makeover! You all know how much I love a beautiful mantel, and I just couldn’t stop staring at all that beautiful tile and molding! Mandy did a fabulous job at beautifying a tricky area in the home. So many readers will ask me how to incorporate a mantel with a flat screen television. I love how Mandy chose to bring the molding above the television to create a taller mantel. Brilliant!
One Project Closer still has their link party open and there are two more weeks to enter! If you have a winning before and after project to show off, hop on over and link it up. Thanks OPC for allowing me to be a part of the fun!
Bright, happy, yet still warm and inviting. Beautiful.

Wow that was a cool idea adding the molding to the top! Very pretty 🙂
Really creative. Looks awesome!
Great choice! That fireplace is absolutely gorgeous.
Beautiful mantel! I wish I had a fireplace so I could do this project.
While I can appreciate the design (it looks beautiful) this is actually harmful to the television if the fireplace is used. My husband is a high end home theater salesman and told me no when I showed him the photo.
Really? Hmmmm. My Mom has a very similar set-up in her home and for the last 15 years all of her many different upgraded electronics have worked just fine without any damage.
Hi Carrie! The fireplace is gas not wood burning. I think that does make a difference because the people who installed it from the fireplace store knew that our tv would be above it and said it would be just fine. So far we have had no problems.
Great choice, Beth! Thanks so much for hosting!
OH MY GOODNESS! Thank you so much for choosing my project Beth! Wow, I feel so honored!!!! I love that this link party truly helps a great organization too! Thanks again, I really enjoy your blog so much!
Yay! Congrats! 🙂 I loved what you did Mandy!
