I’m getting ready to big-boyify (yes, it’s a word) my guys’ playroom and thought I’d highlight a special project before it goes into storage. Hanging on the wall below is my eldest son’s “Star of the Week” poster.
When Asher was 2 yrs old and in full-time daycare (sob), I was asked to bring in a poster that exemplified Asher. Instead of the typical poster board with pics of the family, I decided to do an alphabet quilt highlighting all of his favorite things. This was a big hit with my little man and with his daycare class!
Tempted to make your own? Simply buy small squares of cardstock, type your alphabet words into Word, and print onto the card. Next, choose pictures to go along with your words and print them off of the computer, glue them on with spray adhesive, and place alphabet stickers in each corner. To make the squares into a quilt, punch holes in each corner and tie with ribbon or yarn.
The boys’ have loved looking at pictures of loved ones–and loved things–and the quilt has even helped our youngest learn his ABC’s!
On a completely random note, we’re having a bit of a heat wave right now. With no yard to run through sprinklers and no beach to play at we……
