Rain Boots: The Essential Home Accessory

Have you ever looked around your freshly decorated room and felt it was missing something?  Ever wondered what accessory would be the perfect finishing touch?  Well, I have the answer for you: Rain boots.  I’m not sure if you’ve noticed this or not, but it seems that if you want to give any fabulous room that instant lived-in, country chic, homey appeal, all you really need is a good camera, great lighting, and a pair of rain boots.  Let’s explore this notion further, shall we?

Okay, I’ve hit a SNAFU here.  I SWEAR I had a bazillion inspiring pictures of wellies in bathrooms next to clawfoot tubs, next to beds, in kitchens, on porches etc. but of course now that I need said pics to prove my very important boot-as-the-must-have-accessory-theory, the boot phantom has come and snatched them from my site.  Help me out.  If you have a boot pic, link it up in your comments.

And to you my mysterious boot phantom picture snatcher, I know some powerful bloggers who have some mad inspiration files.  My boot theory will stand true!  At least I think so :).

  6. oh so funny, 'cause my last post I'm stating that I'm turning 35 next month and my wish is…HUNTER BOOTS!!!
    Let's pray (and hope) the money fairy helps us out, there's got to be an advantage of turning 35!

I do love me some rainboots:) At our local farmers market there is a vendor that sells them and has the toille ones (but I believe the ones she has are chocolate brown and cream) and every week when we go I am so darned tempted to bring them home. Ya know…to display on my porch! Ha – Ha! Have a great day Beth!

  12. I admit. I'm kind of obsessed with rain boots. It is a conscious effort NOT to buy another pair everytime I see them at the store. I think it's a bare necessity when you live in Michigan. Love all the pictures you included! Now I want to go buy some more!

  14. I was kind of kidding about the boots as the final touch :). But keep your eyes open because in every Country Living Mag you'll see boots as decor!

  15. I love all of them, but I want the color of green on the cabinets in the last photo. I'm soooo going to paint my lower cabinets green and my uppers a creamy white. I love the boot decor idea, but what if we don't have a mud room or a place to drop things. My home is tiny and not sure I i'm in the the decorating place yet to place the boots as the final touch. Maybe someday!

  16. I love all those pictures! Too funny! I don't have any rainboots to decorate with but flip flops, tennis shoes, more flip flops, more tennis shoes……we all kick our shoes off in the laundry room which then creeps into the hall!
    Now whenever I see a picture of rainboots in a decorating picture I will think of you!

  17. I've noticed all the rain boots too! I love the black and white pair…I don't think I'd ever wear them, but maybe my mudroom/foyer needs a pair (for display purposes : )

  20. I want the zebra striped ones with the green trim—those ARE cute enough to display! I wouldn't want to get them muddy!
