Thanks Birch Lane for sponsoring this post!
The temperatures are slowly rising, our snow has finally melted, and the days are getting longer. Spring is almost here and it’s time to begin thinking of simple ways to spruce up your space for spring. I’m honored to partner today with Birch Lane to share 4 tips for refreshing your living room for spring. Each day of the week, a different blogger will be taking over Birch Lane’s Instagram account to share their room makeover and spring decorating tips! Today is my day! Be sure to follow along on Instagram so you don’t miss a thing; you can find me @homestoriesatoz.
4 Tips for Refreshing Your Living Room for Spring
Living Room Refresh Tip 1: Swap out your pillow covers and throws.

New lighting and fresh pillow covers brighten up our television area. I love having plenty of table lamps to complement my overhead lighting. The Marlena Table Lamps are chunky, gorgeous, and complement the driftwood finishes in my living room.
Products: Martha Pillow Cover, Marlena Table Lamps
Living Room Refresh Tip 2: Restyle your coffee table with seasonal elements.
I love to restyle my coffee table to reflect each season. If you’re unsure where to begin, grab a pitcher of flowers, a stack of books, and a candle to create an instant vignette for your tabletop.
Here I’m using the Boardwalk Round Tray to corral my accessories and visually break up the expanse of the table.
Artfully arranged objects are always beautiful and provide a great opportunity to bring spring into your space!
Living Room Refresh Tip 3: Bring the outdoors in with natural accents.
Using natural accessories –such as birds’ nests, feathers, flowers, greenery, and antlers—-in your living room is a wonderful way to bring a touch of spring to your space.
Don’t be scared to use high-quality faux flowers and greenery in place of fresh. Technology has come a long way in producing realistic looking greens and flowers. Most of the greens and flowers I used in this refresh are faux!
Living Room Refresh Tip 4: Use decorative plates to create a focal point.
Decorating with plates is an inexpensive way to create a beautiful focal point in a room. To add a touch of spring to my back wall, I used two sets of the Decorative Nest & Hive Plates.
Tip: Prior to hanging, trace the outline of your plates onto butcher paper and tape the cutouts to the wall with painter’s tape. This allows you to visualize exactly where to place your plates and reduces unnecessary nail holes. Check out my post, How to Decorate with Plates, for more tips!
Nothing quite says spring better than gorgeous bouquets of fluffy pink peonies! The best part of these peonies is that they will last for years to come! Find them here.
I hope you enjoyed these quick and easy tips and feel inspired to do some spring sprucing of your own! Be sure to stop by Dear Lillie tomorrow to see how she spruced up her dining room for spring.

Hi Valorie,
Thanks so much! My sectional sofa is the Collins sectional from LaZBoy and it’s buttercream leather. Thanks for stopping by!

Where did you get your coffee table?
Beth says
I found the nesting coffee tables online at Wayfair, but I could not find them on the site. They may no longer carry them.
