Sherwin Williams Rainstorm Boys’ Room Reveal {giveaway}

Sherwin-Williams Rainstorm Boys’ Room Reveal (and Giveaway)

I am so excited to finally show you the (almost) completely finished makeover on my boys’ bedroom! In my last update, I showed the yellow and blue color palette produced for me by the Sherwin Williams Chip It! tool. Chip It! makes choosing your paint colors and room accessories so much easier. It was fun to see the color themes emerge from several different inspiration pictures.

I decided to paint my walls in Rainstorm using the HGTV HOME by Sherwin-Williams paint in flat. I used Confident Yellow accents for the bedding, curtains and nightstand. I absolutely love how things are shaping up in their room. So, are you ready to see the befores and afters? Let’s get to it!

Below is a picture of my boys’ bedroom. This picture was actually taken as a room reveal three years ago. I liked their room but we were all ready for an update.

And here is the room with the new Sherwin-Williams Rainstorm paint! Isn’t it amazing how different a room can look with just a few small changes?

Again, here is the before picture from 2009 when I was revealing their new raingutter bookshelves.

And here is the almost after! I say almost after because there are a bunch of accessories for the room that I ordered online that have yet to arrive :( .

The solar system mobile was the first new accessory for the room and the boys absolutely love it! I love how it complements the color palette so beautifully.

And just to give you an idea of what the room will look like once all the accessories arrive, here is what I am hoping for! It will be amazing once finished, so you’ll have to come back to see it in its entirety.

  1. I’d like to make a change to my bedroom. The walls are needing some color and the rest of the room needs to be pulled together with some type of theme. Chip It would make it a lot easier.

  2. MY BEDROOM IS IN DIRE NEED FOR A MAKEOVER! I’D LOVE TO GO THROUGH SHERWIN WILLIAMS CHIP IT! TOOL TO GET IT DONE! THANKS FOR THE CHANCE!

  3. love the colors and I have a 16 yr old who would love to update his room and make it more masculine and updated. He would be tickled to death for me to win this. Love those shades. Easy for us to compromise one one we both like.

  4. Love this color and I love Sherwin Williams! Just moved in to new house last fall and could definitely use some assistance!

  5. Hi Beth,

Love the new look for the boys……….we are just starting to talk about doing over our bedroom,, so I’d love to win, I tweeted it….https://twitter.com/JOKAJ

I can’t wait to see it all finished…..

    I hope you’re enjoying your summer…………

    All the best,
    Kathy 🙂

  6. The boys’ bedroom came out beautiful. I love the colors that the ChipIt was able to help you design the room. That rug is perfect too!

I would love to make over our office because it really needs it. I barely use it because the colors are not very inviting.

  7. We are closing on a brand new home then end August after an agonizing 6 months of construction woes!! I will need color badly!!!!!!!

  8. We close on our “fixer upper” in just TWO days and EVERY room will be having a makeover. My biggest challenge right now is finding a true gray color for the living room, kitchen, dining room, and hallway! Everything I’ve seen seems to have a little blue, purple, green, or brown in it!

  9. i’ve never touched our master bedroom since we moved in nine years ago. didn’t even change the previous owners curtains or paint. i know. i know!

  10. Beth,
I love the contrast between the blue and white. The yellow is unexpected and softens it. Great job! 🙂
Question: Where did you find the boy’s night stand?

I haven’t used the chip it tool yet. But will try it out on my bedroom re-do.

    Your Friend,
    Deborah

  11. Love your rooms – very inspiring! I have 10-year old triplet boys who are moving into their own rooms this summer. With three different personalities, my boys have picked out the theme for each of their rooms and have also picked their bedding. I plan on grabbing all the colors for their rooms from their bedding and using it to paint the walls and lots of their wood furniture! ChipIt will be perfect for that!

  12. Our playroom/preschool room needs an update badly! I threw it together when we moved in 3 years ago, painting the walls and making some cheap red curtains to cover the 3 large windows, but haven’t done much else! I would love to create an inviting space for my children and for the students I teach, as I’m a preschool teacher. Chip It would help me find the perfect color palette and help me create an inviting space, with pops of color that would brighten any child’s day! I don’t have the money to create the space I would like for my children, but would LOVE the opportunity to do so!
    THANK YOU!
    Staci

  13. Any room in my house needs a makeover. I have had all white walls for 7 years. It’s time for some color. But the first room I would do would be my family room/kitchen. That is the room where I spend most of my time.

  14. This is a great tool. I have a teenage daughter who is loving trying to design her new room with this tool! Thanks for the great advice!

  15. I’d love to makeover my son’s room with Chip It! — I got him a quilt that I love, and want to build the room around it. I guess that’s often how it goes!

Thanks for the chance, and your boys’ room looks great!

  16. We are moving in to a rental home in Savannah in 2 weeks and I would love to makeover my daughters room with a beachy theme to match our new location.

  17. Beth, your boys’ room looks so fabulous! Love the new color on the walls and how well it works with the crisp white on the lower walls and the yellow & white bedspreads.

  18. I’m in the process of redoing my living-dining-kitchen areas and would love to win. I’ve been to SW looking and just found Chip It.

  21. Their room looks great, Beth! I love the deep blue, and it’s especially good with the fun yellow accents. I’m glad you didn’t take out the raingutter shelves–I think that might have been the very first post of yours I ever read! And I’m really glad to see that you’ll still have their “A” and “Z” initials above their beds–the new ones are really going to be statement pieces, aren’t they?

Now. How did you get them to look so angelic perched there on their beds? Do you have quiet time when they actually sit there so sweetly?

  22. I just bought a new house and the whole thing is SW Latte. I love coffee, but that’s a lot of bland! The chip it tool (and the giveaway) will really help me decide color schemes. I’m having a particularly difficult time figuring out what color to paint in my open concept living/dining/kitchen so that it’s seemless, but defines each space! chip it will help find common colors and make my life easier!

  23. I have a picture for my bathroom that would be a perfect use of the chip-it tool, since I need to paint in there desperately! Gonna have to check it out!

  26. The room I’d like to makeover is the garage! It’s actually going to be a garage conversion into a studio for me. 27. You created a wonderful room for your boys–I love the new color palette. I would love to redo our kitchen/dining area. We had it painted before we moved into our home, but I now want to paint the cabinets, repaint walls, and make it look more updated. Chip-it will be a great start….

  32. I love what you have done. I am having a horrible frustrating time with the chipit tool. I emailed them and am waiting for an answer, but obviously i am missing part of the process. After clicking on a picture, then what? How do you access it, what happens? I tried to log in and the funny letters are almost illegible..took me 3 times and lots of squinting.I can see it would be a neat tool, however….

  33. I have a small bathroom that I want to completely gut and start over. It would be fun to have the chip it tool to use as a resource! Thank you!

  34. Thanks for the giveaway! I am excited about the possibilities! I love your boys’ redo by the way – really fun!

  35. Picking just one room is difficult but the first room I would use it for is our “bonus room/play room”. I’d use it to select some fun colors to brighten the room. Your boys room looks great!

  36. We have an entire house that is in need of that chip it tool! I am just getting started on designing the guest room, as we are in Florida, I really want it to have a tropical feel. Lots of bright turquoises matched with greens, bright yellow and hot pink.

I love your yellow stripes!!! :o)

  37. My basement needs some color. It is currently a sea of endless beige since I couldn’t decide what to do with it.

  38. This is beyond precious!! I love the various shades of blues and yellows together. And I’m still madly in love with the rain gutter book shelves. Such an awesome idea. Love when books are displayed like this- they are so much more apt to read them that way!

Would love to win a $100 Sherwin Williams gift card – love the power of paint!!

  46. Our next room makeover is our older son’s bedroom as well. We are planning on a “Well Traveled” theme that can be transitioned later. There will be a painted map mural on the wall, so a gift card from Sherwin Williams will definitely come in handy.

  47. My Master Bedroom is the same boring brown as it was when we moved in (5 years ago). I hate it! Time for a change! Love your boys’ room!!!

  48. I love it Beth!! My son’s bedroom is a similar color and it’s so perfect for boys : ) My nine yr old daughter’s room is next up for a makeover – great opportunity to use chip it!
