Benefits of Owning a Dremel Saw-Max

The Dremel Saw-Max is a baby circular saw that allows you to do one-handed cutting without the bulk, heft, and intimidation of a standard circular saw. It comes with two blades, one for wood & plastic, and one for metal. There are also additional attachments and blades that you can buy for specialized projects. The metal cutting bit is fantastic for all of your small metal working needs. We use the metal bits for cutting pipe and cutting sheet metal for craft projects. My husband recently created swords out of sheet metal for our boys using the Dremel Saw-Max!

My grandparents wanted to scrap a bunch of old barrels and use them as firewood, but I decided to give them a new life by converting them into new furniture for my room (gonna make a table, two closets and two armchairs, maybe something more later), and a Saw-Max would be very useful. Also, I got into medieval armoring recently and could use this to speed up my work since I don’t have many tools. Here’s a picture of a replica of the Witch King of Angmar’s helmet I’m currently working on.

  148. There are so many projects I could use this one, first one would be cutting down some boards for a sign project I desperately want to do. This would also replace my battery-operated Black & Decker saw with the batteries won’t charge anymore, and you can’t get replacements for it any longer!

  149. There are so many things this would be useful for. DIY, crafts, home improvement, scouts, the crazy things my mother and I decide we have to try, the list goes on and on. I think I’m going to have to get one of these for her for Christmas now!

  150. Where do I start? I’ve got some brick I need to cut, and lots of wood sections. WOW, what fun!

Since moving back to Washington state, I have had no access to any kind of saw, so my projects are building up and getting left undone, all for the lack of a saw. I have chalkboard projects, a headboard to turn into a bench…and sooo much more, but can’t do much with some kind of saw, so this would get me up and running again!

  170. Power tools are my favorite! I would LOVE to win one of these! I can’t think of about 5 projects for them just off the top of my head!

  171. This is a great tool and would work so well on almost any project around our home or crafting ideas…

  190. We are buying a home this month so I will be able to come up with LOTS of ideas and projects to use this on! Apartments don’t really have room or allow the creativity to have projects.

  191. It looks like it would be great for cutting things bigger than you would put on a miter saw, smaller than a table saw, and with more precision than a full-size circular saw. I like the picture of cutting flexible wire mesh; I cut a lot of hardware cloth recently and this little guy would have made it a lot easier!

  192. How awesome it would be to win! I can finally do some projects around the house by myself!!

  218. I love the idea of not dragging a big circular saw when a little Dremel saw would do the trick!

  223. What WOULDNT i make with that sweet lil tool?????? Im totally crushing on this! As a recently divorced woman, I am having to fine tune my skills and learn new things to quench my need-for-crafting desire, you know, the stuff my husband USED to do for me that I didnt know how to do. This would be so handy for cutting out plywood for chalkboards, a headboard, shelves over my windows in my new (old)lil cottage.Tons of possibilities. I love that its not so large and intimidating, and it looks fairly simple to use! I LOVE IT!!!!

  224. The possibilities are endless with the Dremel Saw. We are looking to buy a home within 6 months and the saw would help with any cabinets or storage that needs built. Thank you for the chance to win!

I bought a regular Dremel thinking that THAT was the tool I needed for my myriad DIY projects, when in reality it is THIS tool I need! Would LOVE to add this amazing tool to my collection!

  232. Beth,
I hope I win this Dremel Tool, but if I do not it will still make it’s way to my tool kit. I have injured my arm in a small home accident, which caused a change in my approach to projects. This would be much lighter and more manageable for me to continue my dreams. I many of the have other products offered by Dremel. Good Luck to Every one!!!

  233. I would love love this saw! Every time I do a project I always have to call my dad and ask him to cut something for me. It would be nice to have something of my own to use! =)

  234. There are so many little projects around the house (like creating small shelf brackets, that I would use the dremel tool for (instead of pulling out my husband’s more cumbersome saws)

  235. I am about to start re-doing our couch. I am going to strip the fabric and add a box frame inside and put a hinged lid then attach the cushions to the lid and upholster it all. I will have a nicer couch and it will have blanket storage. I would LOVE to use this baby instead of pulling out the big circular saw (which I HATE and usually wait for Hubs to have time to help) as I do the frame!

  241. omgosh! This is just what I need to cut my pallet slats. I always have to ask for help cutting them as I am afraid of the big saw. ( I know I’m a big ‘fraidy cat) 😉

  242. Some cute Christmas decorations using tree branches to make a tree. This would make it easy to get them to the length I want!

  243. I refinish furniture so this would be so handy on so many projects! I am working on a buffet right now that had caning on 2 doors that had been torn and this would be perfect in helping me cut out the remainder of the caning.

  244. I would love to win this. We are going to build a greenhouse next Spring and this would really come in handy!

  245. This would help with tons of home improvements as we prepare to add 1 to our family!

  246. I can think of so many home and crafting projects i could use this for. I am forever needing some kind of saw to cut wood for different projects and I never have one! I recently tried to put together some large wooden garden looms and this would have been perfect!

  247. I’d love to be able to do some pallet wood type projects– without power tools (and any place to store bulky power tools), I feel like I’m miss out!! 🙂
