Early Fall Kitchen Decorating Ideas: Sunflowers & Hydrangeas

I often hear from readers, especially those located in the south, that it’s difficult to get into the fall mood when outside temperatures are still soaring! I hope today’s Seasons of Home blog hop hosted by Kristen from Ella Claire helps put you in the fall mood! Home bloggers love to inspire. Our main purpose of doing what we do is to inspire you with decorating ideas early enough in the season that you are able to implement them in your own home if desired. I’m a firm believer that you should decorate your home in a way that brings you joy. If you’re not feeling the season yet, then feel free to just pin these ideas for later. ❤️

Sunflowers and hydrangeas are the perfect early fall decor. If they’re not already growing in your own yard, you can typically find them this time of year at the grocery store! My limelight hydrangeas are from our yard, and the sunflowers and white hydrangeas are from Trader Joe’s. Tucking in some items from your produce drawer is also a fun and easy way to add beauty—and maybe even encourage the family to snack healthy!

I also love to use a mix of faux florals I happen to have on hand with fresh ones! When you mix faux and fresh it always helps the faux look much more realistic.

I had a vintage Van Gogh sunflowers print up in the attic. It used to be my mom’s print, so it was fun to reframe the print and use it here!

To hang the print, I installed a cup hook into the wood of my kitchen hood and then attached some fishing line to the back of the picture frame. It’s securely attached and easy to remove when cooking on the stove.

It’s such a cozy and happy view now! I love all of the wood tones contrasted against my white cabinets! My lighting is from World Market and can be found here. My stools are also from World Market.

And here are a few more views of the kitchen that I do not often share! All of my kitchen sources are linked for you at the end of the post.

Our drink station is one of my favorite things about this kitchen! It’s wonderful to look out at the cows in the morning while making my coffee.

Our tile is currently covered with removable vinyl stickers that have held up great under considerable wear and tear by teenagers and pets. They are peel and stick and can be vacuumed and washed. I highly recommend them!
