Oh sweet puppies, you had me at hello! Welcome everyone to our yellow and green fall porch! I’m so glad you stopped by. Pull up a rocker, a pumpkin-spiced something or another, and feel free to take a look around. I’m glad you stopped by!
Every season, my front porch is the most featured “room” of my home. My BENJAMIN MOORE WYTHE BLUE door (yes, I’m yelling right now) has become a bit iconic across Pinterest and Instagram. “What color is your front door?” is the most frequently asked paint color question I get asked (daily). Hey, Benjamin Moore, you should really be paying me royalties for all the gallons of Wythe Blue I’ve sold on your behalf. 😜 It’s a truly gorgeous color, and I still love it after all these years. It can be tricky reinventing the same space season after season, but I do love the challenge. This year, I had planned on going with a very traditional color scheme but truth be told I just don’t love the color orange. Then I thought I might do a green and white palette to mimic my fall interior, but that was looking very flat and boring. When I came across these bumpy, yellow, pear-shaped gourds at the grocery store, they spoke to me. Maybe it’s because I’m pear-shaped! 😂 I just loved them and decided that yellow, green, and white would be perfect.
For those of you new here, my house is an urban row home and is set up quite high off the ground. To take pictures of my porch, I have to stand at the top of an 8-foot ladder, in a tree, on a public city sidewalk. 😳 At least one lady who walked around my ladder shook her head at me as I was rearranging tree branches around my camera to get this shot for you. Oh the crazy things bloggers do! We are admittedly a weird bunch, but we love to share our decorating ideas and inspiration with you. And if that means climbing into a wet tree on a public sidewalk, well so be it!! You all are worth it!
I’m a huge fan of interesting door decor and am always thinking of new things to create for the door each season. I get tired of wreaths on the door, so this year thought it would be fun to create something with a wood slice. I’ll have a tutorial on how I created this beauty up on the blog in a few days! It was very easy, and I love the way it turned out.
Thankful and blessed! Yes I am!
I kept the rest of the porch fairly simple with a cozy plaid throw, a crate full of pumpkins, and of course my white rain boots. I sneak these boots into all of my seasonal shoots. They’ve been with me since I started the blog 9 years ago.
And of course, let’s not forget my furry accessory! Eowyn was insistent on being in this picture and wouldn’t go back in the house. She is such a cutie!
Here are just a few more beauty shots because I can’t resist!
If you’re wondering what’s just beyond the door, next week I’ll be sharing some mudroom and entryway tips with you and showing off some cute finds from Birch Lane.

Love your porch! My MIL warned me when we were having our house built to get a front porch. I told her we weren’t porch kinda people and have been kicking ourselves for not getting it ever since! I won’t tell her she’s right though! Lol I try to make do with our piney concrete slab, but would love,to be able to sit out and rock and watch the world go by. Oh well! I guess I will just have to admire yours instead!
Your little Poms are cutie So! I have a white one as well. his name is Spanky ( named after the character from The Little,a Rascals). He is my little shadow and keeps me company while my girls are at school.
Can’t wait to see what you have in store for Christmas! 🙂
Aw, Spanky is such a cute name! And yes, I love having a porch. It’s a lovely place to retreat to and a fun place to decorate. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and give Spanky a kiss on the forehead for me.
Everything looks gorgeous! Where did you get your mailbox? I love it!!
Thanks! Here is the link for the exact one I have: http://bit.do/coppermailbox
This is very inspiring for a fall porch. The combination of green and yellow colors always create a magnificent appeal. No doubt why many people look forward to your fall porch because they can learn great inspiration from it.
Yeah this is beautiful and you had me cracking up at the “maybe its because i’m pear shaped” crack. ahahahah!!! From one pear shape to another, girl your gourds look great. teehee.
well we’ve been working no getting our microscopic front porch into shape too. I just re-did my front door with some paneling and a yellowy-green color (parakeet color matched by Behr) and I love it although it does not scream fall with its happy green color. Maybe I should layer some yellows and golds and browns in a wreath on to of it. Anyway, your place is looking fantastic! Well done!
Thank you! Changing up a door color is such an easy and affordable way of making your space your own. Good for you for making your door feel more like home. Happy fall!
Your fall porch is always one of my favorites EVERY YEAR!! So charming & simple ,and your door is stunning!! I too went with green & yellow this year on our little porch. Something about the yellow mums that had me loving them!!

Thank you Paige! Great minds must think alike. 😉 Happy Fall!
I love love love everything about your front porch decor! You are brilliant and inspiring. Quick question… Where did you find your front door “hello” mat?
Thank you so much! I *think* I bought that hello mat last year at a store called Christmas Tree Shops, but then I may have picked it up at a local discount store. I can’t remember. Anyhow, this is the closest thing on Amazon that I can find that looks similar to it: http://amzn.to/2dxaIhN
Beth,
Your home is gorgeous and I love your fall decor. How in the world did you get your dog to sit still for a pic? LOL, adorable and you do have a lovely home
Thanks Vanessa! I told them several times to stay and they obeyed long enough for me to climb a ladder and snap a few pics. 🙂
