For all of you stay-at-home-mommies that need an activity for a rainy day (which by the way won’t cost you a penny), might I suggest the Bass Pro Shop. Visiting Outdoor World is like touring Philadelphia’s Natural History Museum, Please Touch Museum, and the Camden Aquarium all-in-one. Okay, perhaps that’s a gross overstatement, but I promise your kiddos will be just as thrilled! (I think the store’s employees probably hate us, but whatever. Sometimes a mom’s gotta do, what a mom’s gotta do.)
We typically start our tour taking in all of the dioramas. I’m sure there is an understood “Do Not Touch” rule here, but Asher & Zeph always seem to sneak a pet of a stuffed moose head or bear paw. Then we move on to the aquarium and waterfall. (Yes, there actually is a waterfall in the store.) And finally, we end our tour “test driving” the boats or playing with all of the bird-calling devices. It depends on our mood that day. (You understand now why the store employees hate us.)
Enjoy some pics from today’s outing!
“Mommy, that fish looks big enough to eat Zephan.” Hmmm…a subconscious wish perhaps?
Asher and his baby-brother-eating fish.
The beloved Bear Chair. Asher insisted, “Mommy, I look cute. Take my picture!” Who was I to argue?
This was taken in the play area down the hall from Outdoor World. I think perhaps Zeph was inspired by all rugged-man-outdoorsiness we had just experienced. He absolutely refused to budge from this Jeep. He just drove and drove!

Beth – Its so much fun reading of all the boy activities you are doing with Asher & Zeph. I used to take Jon & Matt to John Deere tractor places and they would try out all the equipment there.
Your such a wonderful mom for those little guys.
