How to Train Your Dragon Cake & Party

My boys always look forward to their birthdays because inevitably the celebration just goes on and on!  With their best friends (cousins) all leaving hours away, we usually have a party at home and then another party at my mom’s house.  Yesterday, I hosted all 14 members of my extended family for homemade pizza, cake, and leftover Thanksgiving pies!

Although I am usually the cake maker in the family, I was just spent and asked Hubs to help me out.  Um…hello???  I think he’ll be getting birthday cake duty in the future!

For those of you unfamiliar with the movie How to Train Your Dragon, this cake is a replica of a dragon named Toothless.

Matt did a fantastic job on all the details, even the wings looked fantastic.

Matt made all the kids tinfoil viking hats and we bought Dollartree swords.

Pin the tail on the dragon (which Matt painted) was amusing for all :).

Zephan was thrilled with the big reveal of his cake!

Nothing like eating the head of a dragon to celebrate your 4th year of life.

It was a fabulous success and everyone enjoyed the games, the movie, the pizza, the desserts, and the time together!

Hope you’re enjoying your own holiday weekend with your loved ones!
