I don’t know what the weather is like where you live, but right now I am relishing, rejoicing, rollicking in our unseasonably cool temperatures! I couldn’t think of a better way to bring in September than with temps in the 70’s. Let’s all breathe a collective sigh of relief that the unbearable heat and humidity of August is gone and we have this to look forward to….
I know. It’s a bit of a let down after all that eye-candy isn’t it? Sorry to disappoint you. However, something about this birdcage whispered autumn to me. Couldn’t you just picture it on my front porch filled with little pumpkin gourds? Or perhaps something more spooky like some white sticks with a big fat raven on top? Like I said; it spoke to me. And when a thrift store item speaks, I listen. I bought my $3 birdcage and set off to rid her of the gilded sparkly look. It wasn’t working for me.
A coat of black spray paint later and she’s…uh…oops. Not done! Has this ever happened to you? You are all excited that your project is finished only to find out you did a half-bum-cheek (keeping it clean here people) job in your spray painting! This happens to me way more than I care to admit. Please tell me I’m not alone.
Okay, and NOW she’s finished and looking cute in spite of the bad flash photography. I love it and I can’t wait to play around with some decorations inside.
